I don't really blame people for getting carried away with the historic milestone of having a black American running for president in 2008. I am much more concerned for the people who failed to learn their lessons from Obama's first term and made the same mistake twice by voting for the tyrant again in 2012. They endorsed Mitt Romney in 2012 and have now written an editorial that approaches an apology for the newspaper's 2008 endorsement of Obama. It warms the heart to see so many Americans finally coming to their senses. Billings Gazette opinion: Obama earned the low ratings (click to read the entire column) Sometimes, you have to admit you're wrong. And, we were wrong. We said that things couldn't get much worse after the sub par presidency of George W. Bush. But, President Barack Obama's administration has us yearning for the good ol' days when we were at least winning battles in Iraq. The latest NBC/Wall Street Journal polls show that Americans are giving Obama lower marks than in 2006 when Iraq was going poorly for Bush and a tepid response to Hurricane Katrina sunk Bush's ratings. It's not that popularity polling should be the final or even best measure of a president. There is that old saw that points out there's a difference between doing what is right and what is popular. For us, though, it's the number of bungled or blown policies in the Obama administration which lead us to believe Obama has earned every bit of an abysmal approval rating.

Your argument might hold water if the GOP had a decent favorability rating. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Obama is in the 40s, GOP in the 30s, last time I checked. Where your argument comes apart like a cheap suit is in assuming that because some people don't believe Obama is doing a good job in his second term, they necessarily will vote GOP. Doesn't work that way. I've said this before: Why the Tea Party remains in the GOP is beyond me.

Independents are almost as fed up with our outlaw president as conservatives are. Just because many of us are angry that the GOPe is conspiring to provide amnesty for the invading horde from the south does not mean that we are considering casting votes for the partisan hacks who have done Obama's bidding.

I see nothing but percentages without a total number of votes cast in each category of income level. If I've missed it, I'd be happy for you to show me. I love to crunch numbers. I had a great deal of fun with the stats that Randy Parker linked to, but the lowest income bracket in that poll was under $50,000.

You have complained about my evidence long enough. You should have applied some of that effort on doing your own research, but that is obviously just not going to happen. I should qualify the raw numbers shown below by confessing that I made no attempt to round the results to significant digits. The exit poll results were expressed as shown in the table and exit poll results are notoriously inaccurate anyway. However, the fact that the data came from a left wing source (NBC News) should make you happy. :lol2: Note that Obama's winning margin within the poorest 20 percent of Americans was almost double his overall margin in terms of raw votes.
