I guess I don't really see the difference on this situation. Had she seen it I'm guessing the Q&A would have been inevitable and I do not want to explain it to an 8 year old.
May 13, 201412 yr I've got no intention of teaching my daughter or son for that matter about homosexuals at this young of an age. It's too confusing and would prefer it wait until they are old enough to understand it. A man and women kissing is natural and my kids have seen it the whole life. Whether homosexuals want to admit it or not gay is not normal. And to me, I think that's a path that help creates the problems that we have, and why this is such a big issue in the news. It's not normal for straight people, but it's perfectly normal for gay people. And whether you believe it's normal or not, eventually children will have to deal with gay people. Maybe they'll have to work for one, or maybe they'll have a gay teacher, or even a gay relative. Just like it's easier to learn a second language when you're young, learning how to accept people that are different than you is an important skill to learn, and much easier to do when you are young. Being exposed to that early isn't going to make your children gay or cause them irreparable harm. If they are old enough to ask the question, they are old enough to receive an age appropriate answer. And it gives you control over the situation and insures they are getting the correct message. Burying our head in the sand may be easier and more comfortable for us as parents when dealing with difficult questions, but shielding our kids, doesn't help them. You may have dodged the bullet today, but may not be so lucky to dodge it tomorrow.

Something along the lines of some men/women are only attracted to other men/women. It is what it is, they're people too, it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them...
May 13, 201412 yr Folks, get used to it. I'm old enough to remember when they didn't show married couples sharing the same bed. I think the first was Herman and Lily Munster, correct me if I'm wrong. I remember when Sammy Davis, Jr. kissing Archie Bunker shocked the world. Get used to it.

Fred and Wilma were the first cartoon couple to sleep together.

May 13, 201412 yr It's everywhere on television. You can't watch a modern sitcom without there being a gay person or a gay couple. I do know gay people and I do have gay friends. My gay friends aren't wearing rainbow clothing and marching for marriage rights, they actually couldn't careless if they get married or not. It's like being gay is a new phenomena, whereas it's been around for centuries for crying out loud. Why all the attention now?
May 13, 201412 yr Disney does not officially sanction, do anything to organize or publicize Gay Days at any of their theme parks. They do however, have several Christian themed days such as the Night of Joy where the park is shut down during the evening and is only open to people with at ticket specifically for that event. They also have a candlelight processional and church services on Christmas. If you want equality and they ban Gay Days you would want the Christian themed events done away with too, right? June 7 is gay day at Magic Kingdom. Everyone feel free to go. June 3-9 is gay days in Orlando.
