There needs to be a detailed explanation on how the Officer physically ended up from the side of the vehicle to a position where the deceased was able to drive "at him" thus putting the Officer in a position where he had to jump on the hood of the car to avoid being run over.

 

Frankly, the explanation in the statement does not make complete sense to me and all things considered it is the crucial detail.

Def some holes in it but level of detail is amazing from him feeling the wind to her "about to kill him."

I thought he said she accelerated and turned left into him causing him to land on the hood. Also said she was accelerating towards other pedestrians in the roadway.

If he was possibly even with the headlight, or even close to being even, the acceleration coupled with the turn could put him in the direct path of the vehicle.

I'll take a look at it again, but didn't he say he was knocking on the driver window? That's not possible that far to the front of a vehicle, is it?

Where did it say he say he was ever in front of the vehicle? I believe he said she slowed at one point almost like she was going to stop. She then accelerated left towards him. If he was standing around the around the a pillar near the drivers door that sounds very possible to me.

If you are standing right next to my door, and I turn the wheel as sharp left as I can, and start accelerating, there is no way you end up on the hood. Even though I'm going hard left, I'm also going forward at the same time. Unless I'm completely missing something, visualizing it, it just doesn't make sense that he ended up on the hood from that.

The report , as worded, will hurt the cause of the Deputy and the department should it go to trial especially a civil trial. The plaintiff's attorney will plant so much doubt on what actually happened vs what he described as happening.
