Reds at Pirates (4/21 thru 4/24)

Thanks MTGL. Some people think they have to make a big splash to get noticed or be part of the crowd, when honestly it's just the opposite.

No question, I thrive on keeping a low profile. :sssh:

Hasn't played more than 140 games ever.

No he doesn't. Tony Cruz gets some starts behind the plate. Perhaps not every 5th game, but Yadi certainly gets his rest.

I suppose it just feels like it because I can't remember the last time Yadi didn't get the start vs the Reds. Probably no coincidence.

I still think Meso, if he performs anywhere near where he has been, needs to catch around that 130 range.

I don't know that I can recall in this last 5 year run of Reds success any player being as hot as he has been individually for an extended period of time (10 games +).

^ Jay Bruce was red hot his first couple weeks in the bigs I believe. Only one that comes to mind.

Only a select few can take shots at LRCW. We've earned it. Oh, I did chuckle at the thought of you living at your moms.

That can happen when you ooze gravy... :walk:

I know a manager is going to have some growing pains early, but are we really supposed to believe nobody was available to pitch to one batter in the top of the 8th after Leake went the first 7 or that Hoover had to get out of the 9th b/c they had guys that weren't available? They weren't available b/c he used all his best guys in a 8-0 game Sunday? What?

It shouldn't matter because who closes a game is irrelevant. Closers are overrated.

When has there ever been a sign and trade in baseball?

Not a sign and trade exactly. However, when the Red Sox traded for both Pedro Martinez and Curt Schilling they did so only after they were allowed to negotiate contract extensions with both players. It's happened with other players as well. I thought you were a Red Sox fan?

Give it a rest man, it's pathetic.

Sorry, I don't recall the exact circumstances of deals that happened when I was 12 and 17....

You asked if there had been a sign and trade in baseball. I just thought that a fellow Red Sox fan would have remembered two of the players that were instrumental in ending an 86 year World Series drought for their favorite team were acquired that way--even if they weren't keeping up with contracts at the time...Thought I'd jog your memory some. :lol2::no:

Sounds like you aren't much of a Sox fan...

Tonight is the night Volquez comes back to earth.

I can never think of Volquez without thinking of Josh Hamiton... and that just hurts

Hasn't he pretty much dominated the Reds since they traded him?

Hey just think it got us Latos. (Not really but he was in the trade)
