He's been with Cal for a long time, I always wondered when he would cut the cord. It's going to be odd not seeing the big guy with UK gear on during the AAU tournaments.

I was trying to abstain from the two controversial Final Fours so I only counted the ones at UK.

Seems like Coach O was a big part of the Cal's program and he will be missed. I'm looking forward to following his coaching career and happy for him. I hope he gets to finish out the week for the Cats.

 

I'm in the Barbee camp as well.

Cal always tells his assistants to take a job that you can compete to be the top 3 of that league, everything else will fall into place. I think that applies here for AAC, especially since Louisville is exiting.

 

USF has a long way to go to catch UConn, Cincinnati and Memphis. That doesn't include SMU, Temple or incoming Tulsa if Danny Manning stays. Add in Houston with a deal for Kelvin Sampson in the works.

 

Love Coach O, and think he will do really well. Contrary to popular narrative, this is a strong league and he will have a lot of work to do to be in contention for league titles...

Orlando was a huge part in the recruiting process at UK and has always been very close to the players. I can see this being very big for USF in his ability to relate to the young kids and get some really nice players.

USF made a great hire. I hate losing a great asst. coach and requite but am happy for him and I wish him and USF well.

I look for and hop that the T. Barbare *former Auburn hc) to be on Cal's staff next season, He is a former asst. coach of his and Cal really likes him, talked well of him.
