March 31, 201412 yr Well deserved! Personally I'm hoping he becomes the next superstar young coach. He has the personality to recruit the best of the best. If he can prove to be an X's and O's kind of guy he will do great. My hope is that maybe 4 years down the road after Cal retires, Coach O has proved himself enough to replace his mentor.

March 31, 201412 yr Come on down, Tony Barbee. What is his specialty, he hasn't had any lottery picks or tourney runs? Not a lot of potential assistant coaches that have had lottery picks or tourney runs.

Needless to say it would help his pedigree and help recruiting for USF. Expect UK to replace Antigua with Tony Barbee. But great hire by USF and I hope it works out.
March 31, 201412 yr Will he be on the sidelines for UK in the final 4 or no? Not sure, but indications are that he will. I'd suspect he'll be with Kentucky this week. This type of coaching change is fairly common during tournament time and most often the coach leaves when the team is beat.

March 31, 201412 yr Josh Heath has already announced his transfer. No surprise there. Javontae Hawkins has indicated he wishes to go. I don't think Musa will leave, but then again. However, it'll all depend primarily on Anthony Collins. If AC leaves, Orlando is not going to have a bonafide point. That could get things off to a rough start.
March 31, 201412 yr Cal always tells his assistants to take a job that you can compete to be the top 3 of that league, everything else will fall into place. I think that applies here for AAC, especially since Louisville is exiting.
