Still in disbelief. Just a great night to be a UK fan

I do have a question for some of you college basketball officials or gurus. What is the rule in college basketball as far as going to the monitor? Is it like the NFL where they has to be indisputable evidence to overturn the original call? The reviewed play in this game was really tough to call even after all the replays, but I thought if anything it went off the Louisville player. Did they stick with the original call or did they call it a jump ball because they couldn't tell and gave it to UofL on the alternate possesion?

And to all of you Louisville fans. I feel your pain. It's a shame someone had to lose. I think both teams did the state of Kentucky proud tonight. I don't care what anybody says. Best rivalry in all of college basketball. Two top 5 programs of all time, and 2 HOF coaches with great story lines between them.

I wonder if WCS had an achilles injury.

As much as he could drive many Card fans nuts at times, including myself, I believe he has become my favorite. He was unique and not sure if we will see a player like him again any time soon. His play, personality, genuineness, and more will be very hard to replace.

I was worried about the outcome when UK was down with a little over 3 to play.

How does PurplePride put it? "Practice your free throws' date=' kids." Shots from the charity stripe were the difference in the game. UK hit theirs, Louisville was predicably rotten. Game was nearly a deadlock in every other way. Nice win for Kentucky. Congrats to the Big Blue Nation.[/quote']

 

Thanks Getslow. I'd prepared a post not nearly as class as your around the 7 minute mark. What a finish.

This game was a heck of a basketball game. Had me on the edge of my seat the entire way through. When it seemed like there was no hope there late in the 2nd half, the Cats stepped up and played with some of the biggest hearts I've ever seen a team play with! I also would make Poythress my player of the game and say that he won us this game! The way he rebounded and got to the free throw line down the stretch while bullying #11(cry baby) on the defensive end. But so many Cats contributed to this game and I honestly don't think I've ever been more proud of a team in my life.

I had some fun earlier taking some jabs (was in good fun on my part) but although I don't like them, I do respect U.L. and Pitno.

All jabs, bragging aside I thought there was one thing that happened tonight that seldom happens. Rick Pitino in jmo was outcoached in this one. Both are excellent coaches and imo Pitino is as good or better in game coach as there is in the country but tonight Cal got him. I just thought that Cal made better adjustments in this one than Pitino.
