Doughnut lovers?

A hot Krispy Kreme is almost as good as a beignet from Cafe Dumond IMHO.

Almost being the operative word there...KK aren't even close, those things are the best I've ever eaten.

For those wondering what those are, imagine a Funnel Cake and a Krispy Kreme Doughnut had a baby! Cafe Du Monde is on Jackson Square in New Orleans across from St. Louis Cathedral.

St Lawrence Bakery in Price Hill. The closet thing that I have found to match anything that came close to a Wiedeman's baked product that I lived on in Ft. Thomas growing up. It sat on the corner of Lumley & N. Ft Thomas Ave and I lived halfway down Lumley. I used to get a couple of Chocolate LongJohns everyday. And it showed!!!! LOL.....It has been closed for years now.....St Lawrence is the place!

I must seek this place out! It was a sad day when Wiedeman's closed up shop.

Country Cousins was the bomb! I say WAS because the head baker left to start her own business. it is located on 27 north of Campbell County Middle School. Shirley's Bakery. I haven't been to Country Cousins since Shirley left; I'm not even sure it's still open as I had heard they were closing.

Shirley's will cause you to never again buy a boxed doughnut. I am a fan of Shirley's, but am off the doughnut juice right now. Cream Horns will make you think your teeth are going to fall out, the best….I believe they have free coffee on Friday.

Next she'll be telling us that she can't stand apple pie...

To be fair, Mrs. BirdBrain does not like Apple Pie either….I see that as a win as it just leaves more for me :dancingpa

Frank's Donut on US 25 in Georgetown...yum.

We have a Franks here in Winchester. Best I have had. Spaulding is OK but not near as good as Franks. I love thier big cinnamon rolls. Matter of fact I have family staying with us for the state tourney and Franks is what they are getting for breakfast in the morning. I will be there by 4:30. Krispy Cream, .....can't stand them.

I'm sorry. It's Lent until April 20. I don't want to talk to you guys until then. :angrybird3:

Dino and I are going to take a walk over to the fitness thread.:walk:

Best donut I ever had was at Long's in Indy. 2nd best was at Bel Air Bakery in Bel Air, MD.

In NKY Servatti's and Busken both have strong donuts.

I like the Louisville bakeries mentioned. Doesn't knock my socks off but solid.

In Lex, I really like the apple fitter at Donut Days Bakery off of 27 on Southland.

My office used to be a couple doors up from the Georgetown location. Had them 3 mornings a week.

KK doesn't have enough substance for me, too light.

Spalding's is much better.

Magee's on Main St in Lexington also rocks.

Spalding's on Winchester Road in Lexington...........THE BEST !

I think I covered that in another thread. I hate all pie except chocolate. :isurrender: Don't hurt me!
All Pies run a distant second to Chocolate Pie, my wife and grandma make the best ever!

Weideman's was incredible! Milton's in Middletown Ohio is probably a close second for me plus, they're still fairly inexpensive.

My aunt always goes and get us doughnuts there when we go visit. Yes they are good.

Munching on a Franks big cinnamon roll rigth now....YUM!!!!

A-town can rest easy; I did a drive-by this morning and Country Cousins is still open. My apologies to the owner!

I knew there was a doughnut thread on here from the past, so I had to dig it up.

Was in Richmond, Indiana today and had probably the best donut I've ever had. The Square Donut shop. Square chocolate and blueberry donut holes (I didn't ask how they had donut holes if they only sell square donuts). Excellent.
