Doughnut lovers?

UKMF, there used to be a KK somewhere there by the Turfway Park exit...I think it's a check cashing place now.

I remember that place too! Would stop by there on my way to the office and pick up 3 - 5 dozen for the office. Those were coming right out of the oven and packed straight into the box....man were they good. I just run by Emerson's Bakery once in awhile and grab a variety pack. There's one that you've go to try if you get there.....it's a square cheese danish with cherry filling on top of it! I promise you each one of these has a stick of butter in it!!

I'm sorry. It's Lent until April 20. I don't want to talk to you guys until then. :angrybird3:

What the...? And to think I was so excited about you joining us as a guide, and then you turn out to be un-American. Don't like glazed doughnuts? Guru, can you repeal her green card please?:irked:

No green card; me Americano.

Country Cousins was the bomb! I say WAS because the head baker left to start her own business. it is located on 27 north of Campbell County Middle School. Shirley's Bakery. I haven't been to Country Cousins since Shirley left; I'm not even sure it's still open as I had heard they were closing.

It's still open.

Next she'll be telling us that she can't stand apple pie...

I think I covered that in another thread. I hate all pie except chocolate. :isurrender: Don't hurt me!

I'm pretty sure that Country Cousins is still open. One of my coworkers comes in with it from time to time but I've never been able to convince her to let me have a bite.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to stop by there and throw some business their way. You just can't have too many bakeries in town!

There's an Amish place just inside the Mason-Fleming County line on Route 11. Best doughnuts on the planet. Think Krispy Kreme on steroids - and 85 cents apiece.

To clarify. They only make doughnuts on Friday and Saturday mornings. Get there by 7:30 AM. Buy a bag of doughnut holes, too.

iamwildcat...scratch everything I may have just said. I just asked my co-worker and as soon as I mentioned it, she started talking about Shirley's and how she wasn't sure if Country Cousins was still in business haha!

St Lawrence Bakery in Price Hill. The closet thing that I have found to match anything that came close to a Wiedeman's baked product that I lived on in Ft. Thomas growing up. It sat on the corner of Lumley & N. Ft Thomas Ave and I lived halfway down Lumley. I used to get a couple of Chocolate LongJohns everyday. And it showed!!!! LOL.....It has been closed for years now.....St Lawrence is the place!

There is a place in Lexington call Spaulding's...for a mom and pop, they have very good doughnuts too...different style from a KK, but very good and a good change of pace every once in a while. Still not a KK though.

I remember that KK from when I lived up there. It was still open when I left in September of 05'. A year or 2 later I was passing through and stopped to see if the hot light was on and it was closed down...

A hot Krispy Kreme is almost as good as a beignet from Cafe Dumond IMHO.

Amons in Somerset has the best cold glazed doughnuts I've eaten. KK hot are the best hot doughnuts but Amons cold are incredible.

They have a coconut doughnut that they are famous for but I'll pass, I hate coconut.
