I was in OTR in Cincinnati yesterday and stopped by Holtman's again. Really good donuts.

Bonomini in Northside in Cincinnati has really good donuts.

I love to find local doughnut shops and hit them up. It seems as most cities of any size have at least one Awesome home grown doughnut.

KK is always great, I hate that the one on Florence closed years ago. We'd always take a pit stop there on the way to Indiana.

DD, is OK only in a pinch. Blueberry and Sour Cream are their best IMO.

I knew there was a doughnut thread on here from the past, so I had to dig it up.

Was in Richmond, Indiana today and had probably the best donut I've ever had. The Square Donut shop. Square chocolate and blueberry donut holes (I didn't ask how they had donut holes if they only sell square donuts). Excellent.

Dang it Jim, I needed to know this about a year ago! We played in a basketball tournament in Richmond last year and spent the night up there. I would for sure visited this place had I known.

A friend put me on to Spaldings, very different but very good. Not a big donut eater but get one occasionally when if Lexington, that is, if I get there early enough.

There is a place in Lexington call Spaulding's...for a mom and pop, they have very good doughnuts too...different style from a KK, but very good and a good change of pace every once in a while. Still not a KK though.

UKMF, there used to be a KK somewhere there by the Turfway Park exit...I think it's a check cashing place now. Did they just not do any business at that location? They weren't there very long for those of you who remember it.

Yep, I was in the area and went past there a couple of weeks ago about 10:30am...they were already closed.

Personally, I am not a fan of Krispy Kreme doughnuts but I never was a fan of glazed doughnuts anyway.

Never thought Krispy Kreme was good either.

That's because that raging infection of yours has obviously impaired your taste buds.

Pink in a Blanket bakery in Florence, KY. Not far from the old KK.

Harrison Bakery. Harrison, Ind. Voted best by Cincy Enquirer. Usually pick some up while my son is playing soccer over there.

Another one that I have not tried is Schmidt's Bakery in Batesville, Ind. On President's Day they serve Cherry Thing a Lings. People from all over Cincinnati go up there to get them.

Holtman's is delicious. My issue is I usually end up there before or after hitting up The Eagle or Bakersfield. I'm either way too stuffed to truly enjoy them, or I eat way too many and don't get to fully enjoy my dinner. :lol2:

I miss the Clover Top Bakery in Corbin. Sigh.

My son has a game in Indiana on Sunday I will try to make it up to Bateville. Always wanted to try them. I went to pink in the blanket last weekend. Ordered a dozen and he threw in two extras. They had a chocolate frosted with fruity pebbles on top that the kids fought over.

The thing a lings are good. They have cherries in them with a cherry glaze. I think they had about every pastry available in cherry. Also bought strudel and turnovers. Worth the trip crowds smaller on Sunday

I was thinking about going up on Fat Tuesday early morning, might go if the roads are decent.
