I can't believe it made it this far before Los Angeles was mentioned. I have absolutely zero desire to ever go to LA.

 

I would never want to live there but it was a fun visit. Landed in Vegas, drove to LA to visit some friends. Drove back to Vegas for a few days. That was a fun visit. Would love to do again.

I have no desire to go to any European cities.

 

Being a history dork, visiting a professor friend in Nice, France was fun. Monaco was really neat and Turin Italy was amazing. The Cathedrals there make US Cathedrals look boring.

I flew to Hawaii. I can handle Europe.

Hawaii and/or Europe flights aren't bad at all. Never had a problem with 5 hour flights. It's the 16 - 22 hour flights that take me 5 years to recover from.

I have no desire to go anywhere outside the country. I'll try anyplace in the USA at least once. Personally, I think Gatlinburg is awesome...you just have to avoid tourist traps and learn some shortcuts. It's a great place to fish, explore, go to the aquarium, drink shine and listen to bluegrass music.

Anywhere camping, hunting, or fishing. Especially fishing. The most boring thing I've ever tried to do. Rather watch grass grow than sit in a boat and fish on a lake all day.

Sounds like you've done a whole lot of fishing but not a whole lot of catching.

Disney world and Miami are place I've been and don't care if I ever return

I would love to know of any advice anyone has about Italy or France. I want to surprise my wife with a trip to one of those places. She is Italian and those are 2 places she has always wanted to go.

 

We went to Italy last summer to Venice, Rome, and Florence. Had the best vacation we ever had. The history is amazing, the buildings and art you have read about and seen in books are different than I ever imagined. The food was just unbelievable.

 

Went on a land tour and it was expensive, but very much worth it to us.

I would go anywhere, but very low on my list if it is on my dime:

 

1. Anywhere in the Middle East, including Israel

2. China

3. Antarctica ( this winter was similar in my mind)

My 12 hour flight from Chicago to Tokyo probably isn't for you then. Let alone the 14 hour flight from San Fran to Sydney. I've been on some long flights.

 

As for a place I've never been to, that I never care to visit: the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Heard its beautiful, don't care, I'll pass.

 

Its overrated.

I don't do camping , hiking or any other wilderness vacation. I'm a big believer in modern technology and I don't need it.

 

On a side note went to Pittsburgh last year for a Reds series and that town surprised me how much fun it was. I've been to Vegas and would love to go every weekend if I could. My favorite vacation is probably New Orleans though. There is nothing quite like Bourbon street during Mardi Gras.

Las Vegas tops my list of no desire.

 

LA was ok once but zero desire to go again.

 

This is heresy to many but I consider San Diego very overrated as a destination.

 

Of the big cities I have visited but would like to visit again, San Francisco.

 

I am surprised so many don't want to go to New York City. It has its down side but a cool place definitely worth visiting.

 

I agree with the comments both for and against Disneyland, Gatlinburg and Myrtle Beach. I have had some fun trips to both but no desire to go again ... except maybe Disneyland. You could probably talk me into going there again.

 

No way you could get me to go to Mexico right now.

 

Traveled out of the country several times and more overseas destinations are at the top of my wish list.

Shocked this many people hate Gatlinburg. Don't wanna deal with the traffic? Stay in the cabins or get a hotel downtown. No driving necessary the entirety of your trip. I've probably been to Gatlinburg a dozen times. I always have a blast. Plenty of trails' date=' and nature to keep the outdoors type occupied, and plenty of shopping/restaurants to keep the touristy types busy. Seems like it's a win/win for anyone who doesn't need to be on a beach. :idunno:[/quote']

 

I always have a blast at Gatlinburg & I really leave my cabin.
