Newport is nice but I'm all about the Sharks and Bigger Shark Tank in TN wins me over

Newport is nice but I'm all about the Sharks and Bigger Shark Tank in TN wins me over I won't debate that issue further between Gatlinburg and Newport, but I must agree that the Georgia Aquarium is absolutely amazing. The 60' x 27' window with the whale sharks is breathtaking.

March 13, 201412 yr Vegas does nothing for me. Myrtle Beach. Orlando Love big cities. Should have added Gatlinburg to the "do not like" list.
March 13, 201412 yr My family (cousins, aunts etc. ) go to Gatlinburg every year. We went a couple times. It just doesn't do it for me. The traffic alone is enough to keep me away.
March 13, 201412 yr I will say that getting around and dealing with Gatlinburg itself is an absolute nightmare that I never want to deal with again. I've been twice now. I'm all set. I guess I'm the opposite. I love the Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge area, but we don't leave the cabin to often. Plus whenever I went, it was mostly college friends getting crazy. I'd probably feel very differently about it with kids.
March 13, 201412 yr Shocked this many people hate Gatlinburg. Don't wanna deal with the traffic? Stay in the cabins or get a hotel downtown. No driving necessary the entirety of your trip. I've probably been to Gatlinburg a dozen times. I always have a blast. Plenty of trails, and nature to keep the outdoors type occupied, and plenty of shopping/restaurants to keep the touristy types busy. Seems like it's a win/win for anyone who doesn't need to be on a beach. :idunno:

March 13, 201412 yr You couldn't pay me enough to camp anywhere, anytime. Other then that I'm pretty open to going anyplace. I had a great time in Vegas last summer and would go back in a minute. I make an almost annual trip to NYC and have had great times every time I've been there. Going again in April. Been to Gatlinburg a couple of times. Not against going again but been there done that.
