Fun game to watch. Outcome didn't end up as hoped for the Mustangs but it was good year for the boys.

 

Congrats to the 6 seniors and the rest of the Mustang team.

Moco's JV only lost three games this year. Best win probably at Scott County.

 

Can they compete with Clark's, Paris or even Bourbon's Varsities next season?

Brossart stayed with the Indians for a half. MoCo came out a different team in the 3rd quarter on both sides of the ball. When Cicero had to sit with foul trouble, Jones stepped up. Brossart's lack of depth really showed in the second half as someone already mentioned; the pace seemed to tire them and they pretty much had to stay with their starters as long as they could hold out/not foul out.

 

As always, watching the game with Randy and his entourage was enjoyable. We both rated the popcorn a solid 9. Got to speak with JJ's dad and grandpa; and catching up with Mustang after the game was my pleasure. TAC - good luck to you and yours as a new chapter begins.

Don't know why not.

Congrats to the Brossart Sr's especially Trentman and Burns both very nice players.

Will be very interested to see if both coaches of these schools are back next season, as their JV and Freshman squads were very average

Don''t throw too much dirt on us yet. Mustangs JVs were 15-3, 37th District Champs and Co-NKAC DIV II Champs. Defeated Dixie at Dixie and Holmes at Holmes. Lost by 2 to NCC at NCC and narrowly to Campbell County and Mason County in the regular season, then came back and defeated Campbell County in the 37th District Tournament finals.

Back are Spencer Hackworth, Clay Kramer, Blake Saunders, and Jon Zink who had an ill-fated junior year. We are high on the sophomore class and think they have a future as a contender.

 

No doubt losing the six seniors signals the end of a very strong era of Brossart basketball and we will be in deep rebuilding mode, BUT we've been there before.

Wow. I didn't realize that.

 

He was gone really early in the 4th. Really was a devastating blow for the Stangs, since Alex was carrying the load in the 3rd quarter.

Pretty tight whistle. Lots of hand checks called. Montgomery had several starters sitting on the bench with foul trouble and Brossart had their top 2 players foul out in the 4th.

 

I don't think the officiating was very lopsided, but due to their limited depth I think it hurt Brossart more

 

Totally agree with this assessment. Montgomery had more personnel & wasn't nearly as damaged by the foul problems.

There were more charges in this game than mrs. pb98 at east gate mall.

I stated in the prediction thread that if bench play made a difference that MoCo would get the nod. Knew they were deep.

GRC, Paris and Montgomery Co should be very even next year. There are 5 returning Indians who played an important varsity role this season at different times, and a couple more sophomores with a relatively high ceiling They shouldn't be expected to be the elite team like the past two years, but they will be very competitive in the district and region.
