The one that got me was the Montgomery Player slamming the ball down right in front of the official. The ball went at least 20 feet straight up in the air.. Kinda caught me off guard, so maybe I missed something.. Should official have handled this differently other than ignore it?

 

That one was at our end of the floor as well. He was trying to stay in bounds and slam the ball off an opposing player, but had lost his balance and threw it straight down.

The slam seemed to come well after the whistle. Im looking forward to watching the video of this one. I sat through the game with a 10th region ref. Though he does not like to bash the zebras, he had several comments throughout the game that were interesting.

That was my impression as well.

 

Reminded me of the technical foul called against B.J. .......... of Campbell County back in the 1998 38th District Tournament that gave Brossart the momentum needed to rally to beat the Camels. Simply frustration with himself, but a technical issued nonetheless.

From what gathered (from the first row in the upper deck), Chism wasn't in the official book. If that's the case, no matter who's at fault, it's a technical foul. I'm really surprised Coach Code didn't put up a bigger argument if this is what really happened.

I was guessing he probably wasn't in the BB book, but was in the official based on no T. Don't know if that's reasonable or not.

Total screw-up and if I'm the assigner of the 6/7 Region officials, all 3 of those guys are done for the year.

It just can't be missed. It's not like it's subjective. The kid is either in the official book or he's not. You can't overlook it.

From opposite table and up high, I thought maybe the table had asked for clarification on the who had fouled but the refs couldn't find him because he was on the bench. If the player checking in is not in the book there is no question at all. I did see that the refs let Holland come to the table, but gave Code "the hand". I don't know that any of these issues change the outcome and I don't get that anyone is saying that, just that at this level you should do what you have to, not what you choose to.
