I agree. Beechwood would have gone into the title game without their starting QB and with no true backup QB that could play. They would have needed to run their Tigercat offense the majority of the game, if not all. That Mayfield Beechwood semifinal was a knock em down, drag em out battle down to the last play.

I will take a guess on Beechwood side of things. I know Brett (cant think of last name) is a stud down at Eastern Kentucky. I think Nuss is still on roster at Eastern but heard rumors he is looking at Georgetown. Alex Brennan played last year at Georgetown, not sure if he is still there but assume he is. That is all I can think of. What about Mayfield? How many of them are still playing?

Still a flawed logic. While growing up my dad had two ponds on our property, one large one and one small one. He used the big one for irrigation and did not stock it with fish, there were no fish in it at all, you could fish in that pond for days and you would never catch a fish because it had zero fish in it. Now, the small pond he stocked with fish, a lot of fish. You would barely get your line in the water before you would get a bite. You could catch fish in that pond all day long, because there were fish in it.

 

The size of the school does not, and has not ever mattered. It's always been about how many fish are in the pond.

If that was true the larger school would win all the time and there would be no reason for a school to play a school bigger then they are. In reality, the larger school does not always win. The better program generally has the better team.

On average a large school most certainly will have a better chance at having better athletes in it's hallways. I would say if you had a blind draw where you pull a 6A and a 1A school out of a hopper and make them play, the larger school will win an overwhelming amount of times. Obviously there will be a very few exceptions to the rule, both in outstanding smaller populations and underachieving larger populations, but that has more to do with other factors than pool of possible players.

I am not sure for Mayfield everywhere but 6 that played in that game are still playing for Murray State and one all state player is no longer with the Racers as well as 2 others who left

Beechwood would love to send Mayfield packing to 2A with a loss on its home field come playoff time. I will have to say I will miss playing Beechwood because its lots of fun to banter with their fans. Most are knowledgeable about their team and the game but as it is with any fan base some don't have a clue.

I believe it is Brett Eyckmans you are thinking of. Joey Nussbaum and I believe Cameron Lane were also at the EKU spring game and I think Lane saw some snaps. Cameron Vocke transfered from Georgetown and played for Heidleberg last year.

What about Dane Everett? He was playing at Georgetown. Is he still playing there?

 

Also, Taylor Davis was playing at Cambellsville I believe. Darrick Brilz chose to play baseball and is playing college baseball.
