Has Beechwood received or lost any transfers yet? It seems like some schools are receiving a few.

From what I hear, Beechwood had a few freshmen transfer in, and the middle school had a number transfer in as well. That's what I hear from a good source.

Politics and playing time, Many of the transfers in may not have cracked a starting lineup at the schools they would have went to as Freshman or Sophomores based on talent and numbers, but they can at a smaller school like Beechwood.

I am surprised more students don't look at small schools. I guarantee you there are 30 kids walking the halls at Cov Cath or at each of the 6A schools who are not playing football or who are getting zero playing time that a good coach could make into a competitive small school football team.

Strong program, awesome academics, great people. Why wouldn't they want to go there is the question.

Doubtful, HHS usually had 1 or two in a class so it's not going to amount to much.

IMO, the program is down. It is not what it use to be. The can't get past Mayfield and now are having trouble with Frankfort. Academics start at home with a solid base there. I believe that the school takes too much credit for what the families do for their kids in that community. If you are not a stud athlete or a top of the line A student, you will get buried there.

 

I guess a draw would be the fact that if you were a freshman, and knowing that Mayfield is moving to AA; there is a chance of winning a championship again if they can get by Frankfort. Who knows? I just don't get it. A bit overrated in my book.

Are you telling me that all the kids that play for Highlands are from Ft. Thomas? If so, that is impressive.

Seems as though you have an axe to grind regarding Beechwood, I guess being in the top 5 in the state academically has nothing to do with the teachers or administrators at Beechwood, I guess every kid who goes there is just gifted....believe what you want.

I know plenty of so called "average" kids who have gone to Beechwood, and the sons of those "average" students who now go to Beechwood, not a so called stud in the crowd, either on the football field or in the classroom....they sure seem to enjoy the atmosphere at Beechwood, whether its competing for playing time or competing in the classroom, they seem to enjoy it....guess I better tell them they are buried, have no shot at success, and maybe should transfer to whatever school you attended, since you seem to have all the answers.

Down for Beechwood is still above 90% of the rest of the schools in the state. No shame in not getting past Mayfield. We'll see what happens this year but while not winning SC's, they still are always in the picture.

 

I don't think the school gets enough credit for their performance. Just an awesome environment from the kids to the parents to the teachers to the administration to the community. Few places better to receive an education. No one gets buried there.

FYI, I know plenty too. I can promise you, there are more people that leave after graduation and say, 'there is no way ill send my kids there'; than there are that come back and raise their family there. Plenty. But, you have your opinion and I have mine. Just because they are not the same does not mean there is an axe to grind. Something tells me u are drinking their Kool-Aid.

 

Teachers and admins turn over there. Quality families stay.
