Colonels_Wear_Blue
Some apple trees need different pollinators then themselves. IE you have to have two different types of apples trees for them to pollinate. Yes sir. The variety of crabapple that we're intending to plant (Kerr) will pollinate with the Suncrisp. Any thoughts to having someone local put some bee hives on the property with the trees?

I haven't looked into at this point, but that's certainly not a bad idea. Our farm is in Owen County on the I-75 side of things, and I know at one point there was someone in Owenton who would come and take 100% care of your hives in exchange for a 50/50 split of the honey output with you. Right in my neck of the woods. Im sure there are people out here that do that. Just makes sense to have bees where you need pollen distributed.
