Booby, great players have to have a place to play. With the problems between Boyle and Danville over the years, if consolidation takes place I would not be surprised to see several athletes Baseball, Basketball and Football follow Perry if he is hired. One thing I have learned over the years is that when Mercer/Harrodsburg consolidated that they were really good once. But have never had what Harrodsburg had. If consolidation happens you have other issues to deal with. Because now you have 100 parents that think there child can play with 22 spots.

Secondly, why would players leave Boyle to play for Perry with Chuck Smith here? Then basketball and baseball players following him? I do think that you may be able to hold on to your athletes that are there if there is a good hire for the football job. If Perry is the coach I think he will do a good job, but you have to be realistic about your situation there instead of getting caught up in the moment. Also be aware that you may have lost a better coach than any of the ones you are trying to replace him with.

I've not heard the consolidation rumor but the same transfer rules apply for athletes during a consolidation so they would have to move and I don't think any or many of those kids would move to Garrard County for academics or athletics.....JUST MY OPINION!!!!

I think there was only 4 classes in football at that time.....my point is....they didn't have any issues the first year because they won a state championship and that probably solved a lot of the problems the first year.

Past perforformance and success at Garrard points to Perry as being the most successful coach in Garrard history. If they get Perry it will be an upgrade in coaching experience and success. That does not imply that he will have the same success, but it does imply that it is possible. As for merger (not in the stars at this time). As for Chuck: go to the Boyle 2014 page. think about a move...... What is surprising is the number of students and athletes that were

I'm not going to get into a debate on this but all I'm going to say is I totally disagree with you and far as replacing his coaching ability. I know you going to say.....he has class, character, he is a religious man.....blah, blah, blah.....not questioning any of that. I do question his coaching, being able to adapt to change, being able to make adjustments at halftime or during the game, using players the right way to win a game, etc.......Just glad there is a change as long as they hire the right one!!!!!!!!!:ylsuper:

I would expect any kind of mass exodus. If Danville and Boyle did consolidate, which I don't see happening for some time, the Danville kids would be closer to Boyle and would have access to school buses to go to Boyle. It wouldn't make a ton of sense to come to Lancaster.

I had heard that but there could have been some underlying circumstances with that......I'm just a general observer as to the comments I made about the last coach at Garrard!!!

I sure do enjoy all of this consolidation talk, but I would like to direct the attention of the class back to the board on the subject at hand. From what I'm hearing in public, and on here I think the choice is Perry and will be announced in a few days! This town is going to be ecstatic!
