Exactly right. There will always be the half glass full people, and the glass half empty people. Can't make EVERYONE happy in anything in life.

Just a side note: Ive never seen a thread anywhere about the 7 or 8 hires any school system does at the end of each school year to fill out their teaching staffs.

I get that part but you actually indicated several quality applicants etc as though you know who has applied?

It just sounded like you are seeing the applications as they come in. No harm no foul.

I have a right to worry as do other people as to what goes on at that school as long as I am paying those high dollar school taxes and as long as I have kids going to school there. I just know that they have had a hard time hiring the right coaches and if you don't believe me just ask the kids that play basketball at the school. My trust level is very low on the hiring practices and until they show me, the community or any other tax paying citizen they can do better I will continue to complain.

 

 

The bottom line is I think everyone knows this is one of the most important hires in a long time at the school and are really hoping they get it right this time.

I find it hard to believe that they don't care what the community wants. I would think anyone hiring for any position anywhere would need to pick the person that is best for that job, at that time, in that circumstance. Does it always turn out right? No. But that's the same with any job. Hiring teachers doesn't always work out. Hiring state workers doesn't always work out. Hiring fast food workers doesn't always work out. Heck, ask Mitch Barnhart how a couple of his hires worked out? Did he really not care what the community wanted?

 

I suspect that whoever Garrard hires will suit a majority of the people and a minority will not be happy. But that's the way with everything.

 

Looks like Mitch Barnhart might have learned his lesson on a couple of his hires(I'm sure he was told about Calipari the first time but didn't listen) so hopefully Garrard has learned too.

Booby it seems you may need to apply to administrator then hire your self as head football coach you seem to know alot.

Who ever gets the job will have plenty of talent in the next two years. Supposedly being in Boyle and Catholic district will be tough.

I'd say the people at Garrard County High know they need to hire the right guy or they may lose more kids to Boyle County for academic reasons. So far football hasn't lost any kids yet.

I think it is important to note, that reviewing all applicants is called due diligence, and it should not be considered an insult to Perry, Jaggers, or any coach.

Just reading between the lines..........

Age has no bearing on whether someone can Coach. Rick Pitino is 59 years old. That is not young. I would consider him a pretty good coach. Roy Williams is 60 I think he can coach. Rodney Woods is 56 I think he coaches okay! Whether you are young or old is irrelevant.
