Just wandering, If Perry were to be hired. How many players do you think he would actually have. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't he only have about 30 players on several teams he coached there. Obviously the school has grown in size, but surely a lot of the same dynamics are still in place that were there the last time. I have had several ex-players say that they hope the kids can handle what he will bring to the table. On a side note (they were all very glad he applied and hoped he got it)

 

Coach Scenters has had between 40-50 the last several years and I'm guessing a similar number would continue with Coach Perry. Now he might cull some of them, but I'd expect the interest in the program would balance it out.

Seriously though, thirty days still gives a new hire plenty of time to prepare for Spring Practice. Everyone has to remember that those dates are no longer based on basketball season... Now the school sets it.

I think that is always a concern, but Perry has mellowed a little, I think - plus, the numbers are higer.

I would imagine the enrollment never exceeded 500 when Perry was at Garrard the first time. Now the enrollment is steadily over 700.

I don't know how much he has mellowed. I did hear he enjoyed his roll at Boyle this year. But, he still looked like he was his old self at Danville. I know my daughter played softball for him, and he was pretty intense with that as well (ha ha)

I'm not saying waiting the 30 days is a bad thing.....just think if they know who they want and the feeling is mutual then get it done.
