Whoever the Coach is and being on the football boosters, I can guarantee that I will be doing more

supporting than the majority on here!!!!

 

Congratulations.....I'm glad you are putting your time in on the booster club just like other parents have done.....if it wasn't for the boosters and the alumni clubs the football team wouldn't have much.

Just crawl out and show up next Friday at the theatre in Lancaster. Lol

You my friend don't know what you are talking about.....the board does not hire coaches or teachers. The site base hires teachers and the principle and ad can hire a coach but it the coach might be teaching then the site base has to approve the coach as a teacher not as a coach. So if you mean board as in site base I agree with you but in no way does the board hire a coach or teacher. The process is over as long as Coach Perry accepts the coaching position. Now as far as i's and t's crossed may do with assistant coaches and that should work itself out.

Grasham was on the hiring committee along with the ad, a radio person, a real estate person and I believe the assistant principle. I think it all will work out this week for everyone.

 

I'm looking forward to hearing who his assistant coaches will be??

I would think he would do the defense but wondering who his OC will be.

yep the OC position is a bit of a mystery and so are the rest of the assts he will want....

Jerry Perry will be introduced as Garrard County's new football coach on Friday at 4:00 pm at the Grand Theatre in Lancaster. Everyone should make plans to attend and show their support for the new coach.

I think you will find that Jerry is more than capable of calling the offense. He might call both sides if necessary. He called the plays when he was at GC the last time. Hester was the DC with Perry to the brunt of the preparation. I hope we see the option back in play?

I don't... It is a fun offense, but it makes you one-dimensional. Running a triple-option requires so many reps that, if you want to do it well, you basically can only do THAT. Makes it hard to be multiple in your attack.

Coach Perry is smarter than to think he can coach both the offense and defense. His track record tells me he knows he needs good assistant coaches to have a successful program. Friday is going to be a great day to be a Garrard County football fan. The program is in capable hands now so let the man get settled in and do his job. :dancingpa

Yes, but I would argue that Belfry isn't the norm. Plus, the triple option, and the fact that you have to rep it so heavily (to the exclusion of other stuff), makes in-game adjustments more difficult. I would also say that there is a difference between the belly (Belfry) and the veer (which I think the old Garrard teams primarily ran). I am not saying it can't be successful, but I wouldn't say it is the best offense to run. Just my opinion.

 

I also don't think you can build a system around players - because you would have to install a new system every season. . You adjust your playcalling, formations, etc., to your players, but you can't have an option offense one season, then go to a power, to a spread, etc. etc. There MUST be a system.
