Not sure yet. Last years Spring Practice ran from 4/8 - 4/27 but that was after Spring Break which happened the week prior (3/28-4/3)

This year Spring Break runs 4/17-4/21. So they could do Spring Practice the weeks prior to Spring Break, or just after Spring Break.

The Spring Game would typically be the last Saturday of Spring practice.

Wait. are you guys saying there is an issue if he wants to play multiple sports. Do these coaches really not let their players not play other sports or discourage it. Seriously! I have heard this at CCH but c'mon, this aint true right?

 

Saying that Coach Ruthsatz stays, CVH will be the centerpiece of the program for the next 3 years. CCH summer basketball program is very time demanding, compounded with AAU travel teams, I'm not sure where football fits in.

 

There are some quality upper classman at the QB now, plus Hentz did a wonderful job when CVH went down to injury. CVH has the athleticsm, but needs to improve his passing skills at that level. Angel and Best were the playmakers on that team.

 

There is no way Jim Von Handorf is going to have CVH playing defense. He has too much time, money, and effort in grooming his son. They have done a wonderful job with CVH, the risk outweighs the reward!

Not that I agree that defense is where he should play, but to say Jim VonHandorf isn't receptive to him playing defense is inaccurate. Not to mention (and Jim would say this himself) it is immaterial what he wants- it's what Cole and the coaches want. I do agree that AAU basketball is a load. We will see.

Regardless, I think all will be well in Colonel land with the kids coming back and coming up.

I find it sad that Kids are often forced to pick one over the other. Even if the two HC are cooperating completely, the pure time comittment of playing AAU and Summer CCH basketball, as well as the 3 day a week football practices starting June 1st is quite overwhelming. This is where I think the concern for over use injuries and lack of weight training time becomes a concern.

 

I hope he continues to play both, and I hope it's at QB. He has one of the quickest releases I have seen ever for kid his age. However, as someone above mentioned he definitely could use some reps to improve/change some of his mechanics to take his QB skills to the next level. Solid. Hopefully, Boone and Ryle are better. I expect my Cougars to suffer this year. Holmes is Holmes. I would think BW will be a good game. Lots of young talent moving into the upper classes.
