Colonels go against Princeton tonight at 6:00 in Park Hills in 7s.

I may have to stop out and watch some of that.

The only 7 on 7 on the schedule this week is at Lasalle on thursday

True rivalries aren't this lopsided. 0-7 since 2010. Average margin of victory for HHS 19 points - almost 3 TD's. This isn't a rivalry by anyone's objective observation.

Even if you go back to the last CCH win in 2006 the numbers remain ugly for CCH...

CCH is 2-11 last 13 games vs HHS.

HHS avg margin of victory in last 13 games (including the 2 they lost) - 19.9

 

I know rivalries are about more than the on-field game - the tradition, the fans, the families, the deep community roots, etc. - but the on-field game itself has become completely lopsided. I don't see how that's debatable.

The Highlands - Cov. Cath. rivalry transcends sports. It is not just a football rivalry anymore. It does not matter the sport whenever someone says "we got Highlands this next game" students tend to take notice and the student sections will always be a little bigger. The soccer/baseball/basketball and all other sports want to beat Highlands just as much as the football guys. Heck I bet a food eating contest between the two schools would draw a crowd.

Glyde, you're completely right about how it has been very lopsided. No one will deny that or the fact that Highlands has been simply on another level than CCH. Would it be better if CCH started winning games? Absolutely. But this could had a little bit to each Highlands senior class of not being the team that loses to Cov. Cath. Kinda like Cov. Cath to Dixie.

Can anyone confirm or deny the status on the QB Dressman's knee? Possibly a torn mcl requiring surgery??? Clyde, go to work on this.

Hornsby (sp?) has been the only player kicking as of now, or so I have been told. But few kids have said they maybe getting another soccer player or two to come tryout. And on Dressman's knee, I have heard anything from torn to just tweaked.

Haven't heard anything about this one. That would be unfortunate for the kid.

 

Note: You say "QB" but I think Wags is the QB and Dressman will play a slot/RB/WR type role.

Hornsby (upcoming Soph who also plays CB) is a very solid place kicker. He will be a definite upgrade from last year.

If this is true, isn't MCL the "easy" knee surgery? I believe he could be back by the season opener if I am correct.

Why all of the concern about the kicking game? Did it cost them games last year? Is the concern simply PAT's or does it include kickoffs as well?

I'd be willing to bet that Cov Cath missed out on somewhere between 30 and 40 points over the course of the season on missed field goals and PAT's. Who knows how many situations where a field goal attempt would have been reasonable but had to be passed on for a more legitimate attempt at putting up points. That needs to be remedied. Period.
