January 4, 201412 yr He told people/players as late as yesterday he was staying at UofL... Either be honest about looking at the offer, or don't say anything at all. I'm sure he has a lot of mixed emotions right now, but you are right, just keep quite. I may be in the minority, but I believe taking the Texas job could be a mistake. He seems to have it pretty good right now.
January 4, 201412 yr @celebrityhottub: "Charlie Strong's going to Texas because you didn't eat your vegetables, Louisville fan."
January 4, 201412 yr Bunch of stuff on Twitter about sources saying Strong was "disappointed by empty seats at announced sellouts" and "the small crowd at the start of senior day". Again what I mean by handling it poorly. Make a decision, do it quickly, based on professional reasons. This feels like laying it at the feet of the fans so he can feel better about things. Excrement. It was the biggest senior day crowd at UofL... ever. Furthermore, this town is full of partiers and drunks and it takes a lot to get them out of the parking lot. I'm disappointed with them every game too. I hate that this keeps stretching on... Nobody can blame the fans in a year when they broke the school attendance record, in the biggest stadium they've every played in, ESPECIALLY when the attendance is based on tickets scanned, not sold.
January 4, 201412 yr So if he does come back does fans perception of him change? Is it just about wins or what? My perception of him wouldn't change. He just sucks at handling situations like this. Doesn't change what kind of football coach he is.
January 4, 201412 yr Forde reporting that a source close to Strong says he thinks he truly hasn't decided. That it's not about money, and not about Hurtt.
January 4, 201412 yr Charlie Strong telling me he's disappointed in me and that's why he's leaving makes me feel like I have father issues. And talking about bringing back Petrino even after he hurt me so many times feel like battered wife syndrome. I need a shrink. WHY AM I NOT ALLOWED TO JUST ENJOY SPORTS!?!?
January 4, 201412 yr Forde reporting that a source close to Strong says he thinks he truly hasn't decided. That it's not about money, and not about Hurtt. I can understand that. One daughter attends Mercy Academy, I believe. He may have other school-age children and he does not want to disrupt the family. There will always be high-quality jobs available each year. I hope he stays. What is the graduation rate since he's been at UL-------93 of 98? He's done a good job with the kids on his team, has improved their chances in life.
January 4, 201412 yr @_EthanMoore: "A source close to me is disappointed that Charlie Strong blew a 21-point second half lead to UCF." :lol2: @Mengus22: "Louisville sold its entire allotment of tickets to a Beef O'Brady's Bowl. Not hearing this fan support crap."
January 4, 201412 yr Author Let's be honest he could come back to UL with open arms. He called the entire fan base out a few years ago and nobody said a word. UL needs Charlie, more than Charlie needs UL.

January 4, 201412 yr Pat Forde @YahooForde1h I'm told there's 1stumbling block keeping Strong-Texas from happening. May get resolved, but not yet. Offer is there, not formally accepted.
January 4, 201412 yr Eric Crawford @ericcrawford2h Source: Charlie Strong told #UofL AD Tom Jurich last night that he plans to accept Texas' offer, but that he has not made a final decision.
