Charlie Strong to Texas

Featured Replies

Can't say no to Texas? Seemed like at least 5 or 6 did before they reached out to Strong.

From Louisville to Texas, you don't say no.

Who were the 5 or 6?

Sounds like not all Texas boosters are happy with Strong. One of the biggest Red McCombs says its a Kick in the face to hire strong. He better win fast. He doesnt like the media obligations and his interview was terrible. I just hope he didnt make a mistake. I really think he should have waited one more year for the Florida job to open up. I understand what you are saying. But when it comes to tradition and boosters they are still top tier. I think PSU will get back quicker than ND

ND just went to the National Championship last year, when was the last time PSU played for it

I feel certain that Strong is elated to be at one of the very elite college football programs that exist. Texas has lost a few home state kids in the last couple of years. Texas is huge on high school football and with Strong imo they will get their pick of all the in state kids. That, coupled with his recruiting elsewhere, especially in FLA. the Longhorns should be back to where the expect to be a lot sooner than later. Mack Certainly didn't leave the cupboard bare so there is plenty of talent awaiting Strong.
