I did not read every post in here but as SKs wonderful season comes to an end I want to say this. I am proud to be a new member of Pioneer nation. The young men of this football team represented Independence KY and Simon Kenton HS wonderfully this season. I am happy that my kids will one day attend SK. My wife and I have met many great people in the school system and are so happy with the choice we made when we moved here and chose where to send our kids to school. See you all at the basketball games. GO SK

Why did SK not pass more? Was Kuntz getting pressured a lot and was Butlers secondary just that good?

They haven't seen the speed they saw tonight all year. I knew that would eventually catch up to them. You could see in the various You Tube videos that they were slow.

Looked like the same game plan against Conner run run and run. I think Kuntz was sacked once. First half they did throw 5 passes. It was like watching Ryle with Elliott and Hemple running on every play. Second half they passed the ball more. But one designed run almost took Kuntz out of the game. I'm not a fan of running your qb up the middle.

Do you think the Sk coaches and players took Butler lightly because they only beat Campbell by 7? Butler is a big play offense but I really didn't see them putting up 29 on Sk. Campbell held them to 137 total yards and 89 of those came on one play and 3 turnovers by their offense. I had a feeling Sk would struggle on Offense. They have not played a team yet this year that can man you up on the outside and load the box to stop the run. Butler is a very good and physical team and I wish them luck. Hope they win it.

 

I don't think that is the case and if it was then it was a foolish mistake. CC was better at stopping the run and matched well with Butler. Like someone said earlier every game is a snowflake

I'm just glad the state championship is going to a public school... I think diversity is good for the state. Hopefully this will encourage more kids to stick to the public school route instead of feeling like they have to go to Trinity to win a state championship.

 

No need to be hating on the Rocks because they are a private....

He scrambled fine couple dropped passes and couple over thrown deep passes. If they passed more in the first half they would have been in better rhythm in the second half.

Anyone that thought that the first comment by UKFan wasn't going to be a shot at Marksberry hasn't been paying attention over the years.

Congrats to SK, undefeated in the regular season is something to be proud of. As stated a million times, SK needs to schedule better teams during the regular season to prepare for the playoffs.

 

UK#1 fan is a great fan of high school. I enjoy reading his posts and I get lots of laughs. UK, I've eaten plenty of crow over the years and found that eating it with a bottle of whiskey is the best method. Enjoy!!!:thumb:

There are seniors that gave there heart and sole to this game for 10-12 years and you get on here and do this. Grow up and give credit were credit is do there are a lot of teams that would have loved to make it as far as SK did.

I won't speak for him, but I'm pretty sure JA's comments were directed at one particular SK fan... And as much as that particular poster talked this season, JA's comments were more than warranted.
