NewCath and Holy Cross have no business on the schedule of a 6A team that has post season plans.

Holy Cross is one thing. NCC will push those teams most years. NCC needs those teams on their schedule to get them ready as well.

I agree can't wait to see what next years schedule looks like. I hope Highlands, CovCath, a Cincy school or Louisville 6A school.

That fact that what you say is true is the problem. (That NCC would push them in most years) Maybe on a rare occasion, but not consistently. A competitive 6A school does not have any 2A school on their schedule. AND a 6a school shouldn't be scheduling a 2A school because its good for the 2A school.

 

This is nothing against NCC. They do a GREAT job of scheduling and preparing themselves for the run. But my point is if you're striving to be recognized as a top 6A program, a 2A team should not be a challenge. The fact that they can challenge Nky 6A schools most years is the problem.

Don't disagree they would challenge more than Ryle and Boone. But if I'm currently in 6a, I'm not trying to compete with them. I have to play them, so I know I'm going to not be too challenged there (at this point), so I'm looking for more comp outside my district and a 2a school is not where I'm looking. Just because they would challenge them more than the other 6a schools doesn't mean NCC prepares them for what they will face. We've grown accustomed to seeing NCC compete with the 6a schools and we think its good because they challenge them. When in reality it is good for NCC, but not really that good for the 6a team. If we want to compete 6a, we need to set our sights higher than any 2a school. I'm sorry if it hurts feeling, but its the fact. Look at T, X, HHS, BG, Warren Central, John Hardin and even Scott co, Ryle and Boone. The 6a schools hardly have any 4a teams on their schedules, let alone 2's and 3's.

 

I'm not saying its terrible for NCC to be on your schedule, but if they are one of the teams you hang your hat on for a SOS argument for a 6a program, then there is a problem.

 

It's still beyond me why any NKY 6a program that as any aspirations of eventually competing with teams down state (which I would hope is all of them), wouldn't have Cov Cath AND Highlands on their schedule.
