They haven't seen the speed they saw tonight all year. I knew that would eventually catch up to them. You could see in the various You Tube videos that they were slow.

Interesting....so they beat SK with their star players backup! Do we see an all Louisville 6A championship?

 

The injury occured midway thru the 4th quarter.

Close to 200 yards rushing tonight, hard to say they ran the ball too much. It seemed like they were in a ton of 3rd and long tonight and that's difficult to overcome if you don't have a slight advantage on the edges.

I didn't see either team, just listened but would you say the better team is Collins but the better athletes play for the Bears? That's what I'm thinking.

Phone died at the game, just got home. I really can't put a finger on what SK was doing wrong other than the defense REALLY struggled to contain Butlers running backs. They could've run off the corner every other play and SK just couldn't stop it. Butler did have one long pass play that went for a TD but outside of that they really didn't throw the ball down field much.

 

Then on offense SK drove the the 77 yards on one drive only to turn it over on downs at the one yard line. The turning point was after that drive, then Butler scored on the following possession. Kuntz hurt his throwing arm and the back up started warning up on the next possession nearing the end of the third quarter. Kuntz ended up staying in but him being injured really took it out of SK. It was like they were suddenly unsure as to whether or not they could pull it out at that point. SK fans were rather upset with the officiating but it wasn't as bad as some made it out to be. Just too much speed for the Pioneers tonight and Butler wanted it bad, congrats to them. Good luck to the SK seniors moving forward.

The big plays bit the Pioneers big time in this one. Most of us thought that SK was going to have more and more trouble the deeper they went in the playoffs but that they would be able to get through this game. Good year for Simon Kenton. More progress for the program. They still aren't at that top tier level but they are getting closer.
