But to say the CCH program isn't headed in the right direction because two JV games were canceled is myopic at best and just plain dumb at worst. Wirth has this program re-built into one of the top 10 in the state, regardless of class and the future is bright- very bright.

This year they've been hit with injury after injury to key players on both sides of the ball, playing with their JV backfield and still find themselves 5-2 against a very tough schedule. THAT'S what I call a great combination of young talent, coaching and development.

All this anti Wirth talk is just birds chirping - the same kind of birds who like to propagate rumors like Wirth going to Boone Co for instance. So can all the cloak and dagger conspiracy theory bull and take it for what it is- a poor decision made over the course of a thousand right ones.

I don't hear a lot of "chirping" about Dave and the job he's doing. I actually don't hear a lot either way. IMO they need to step up their schedule again in order to get some more excitement going.

I just checked the CCH website. It does indeed say "cancelled." No more JV games for the season.

 

Does Holmes not play JV games?

If we by the team that's playing now (and not the team that might have been had there not been injuries) which game(s) on the CCH schedule prove to you they're top 10 in the state?

By the way, congrats to the JV players and staff for winning all of the games it was allowed to play. They finished 4-0.

 

Work out year-round to play 4 JV games. Stunner.

You know as well as any CovCath faithful, I have some serious respect for CovCath as a total program and the recent series of jv cancellations has me lost for words and leaves me with serious concerns of whether or not this football program is headed into the right direction as some would argue.

 

Iam not real sure I agree when games against its biggest rival are being cancelled without taking into the consideration the long term effect this could have on the program as a whole.

Lynn Ray built CovCath into the program they are. They were respected by many and all and his numbers and titles prove it.

Seventy five young men in the JV/Varsity football picture. Should be enough to play a JV schedule, not just 4 games.

Speculation is that injuries appear to be preventing this matchup. Word coming out of Park Hills is that the team is almost back to full strength. Seems that practice today included the starting RB, the return of a starting offensive lineman, as well as the return of a wide receiver. So it looks as if QB is the only area where injury remains an issue, yet with that one injury a " top 10 program" is unable to field a JV team.
