Without question, Jimmy John's. Nowhere else is even close.

 

Quizno's and Subway are disgusting.

 

That's laughable about Jimmy John's, you must get a discount there. Subway is disgusting, but forgive me for liking my cheese to be orange, but Quizno's is the only one I've eaten at that uses cheddar cheese, therefore making it number 1.

Jimmy John's isn't even close to Jersey Mike's for cold subs.

 

I've been on a Firehouse kick lately...

Penn Station I suppose. Not a sub connoisseur by any stretch. I'd like to try Firehouse subs. What makes them any better than the others by the way?

Jersey's is top-notch.

I don't really see Penn Station as a "sub restaurant". They make hot sandwiches. When I think "sub", I'm thinking cold sandwiches, and for me, the difference in being in the mood for a cold sandwich versus a hot sandwich might as well be the difference in being in the mood for pizza versus a burger.

 

JJ's is pretty fantastic. I have a weakness for their avocado spread. I would have included Jersey Mike's on the list, as mentioned by some folks before...but for the time it takes to get order and get your food, along with the price you pay, I'd have to give JJ's the nod over Jersey Mike's. I saw somebody mention Potbelly's too. I just don't understand what some people like about that place. I've eaten there twice, and I don't have any plans on going back. It was a slight step up from Subway, only at twice the price of Subway.

Out of the options it is easily Jimmy John's. Still sad that not only did I move my home AND office outside of the delivery area, but there isn't one w/in an hour drive.

 

The correct answer is whoever has a good Cubano or Bahn Mi.

 

Bahn Mi is aweseom. I've not had anything from Cubano, but it's on my short list. Next time you're in Louisville, you should hit up Havana Rhumba Express at the Douglas Loop. It's two blocks from my apartment, and in the short time I've lived here, I've already walked there for lunch or dinner 3 times.

 

One thing I'm gonna miss over the next few years while we're here in Louisville is Sub Station II and Ft. Wright Family Restaurant. Gimme the 12" Super Special on wheat with lettuce, tomato, pickles, banana peppers, oregano, S/P, olive oil and heavy vinegar at Sub Station, or a turkey and ham double decker on wheat toast with lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo at Ft. Wright Restaurant. I'll be up for the Cov Cath/Moeller game on Saturday, and I'll be getting one of the two of those for lunch on Saturday.

You get a big size sub for 5.50 from potbelly . Wouldn't call it pricey . Plus their shakes are amazing. I may be in the minority but I'll take a big Italian with a pickel from potbelly over anything from JJ. But the Original Italian from Jersey Mikes is the King .

The best ever is a place I ate at in Nashville called Which Wich. Now they are opening one on Mall Rd in Florence. Can't wait!!!

 

I just checked out their website. I could eat there every day for a month and get something different each day. I'm definitely going to have to try that place once it opens.

Before I get harassed too badly, at Subway I get my sub as a chopped salad with double turkey and avocado. Judge all you want, it is healthy and good.

Of those listed, Subway. However, I rarely go to a sub shop.

 

We've got a Jersey Mike's close to where I work. Went there once. Nothing special to write home about.

 

As far as I'm concerned, the best subs I've ever had were made at Publix Supermarket. No sub shop anywhere can touch them. Cheaper, too.

Of those listed, I like Penn Station the best. Potbelly's is my favorite, it would be sub place, right?
