Personalities That I Hate At Work (Rant)

Featured Replies

1a. Mr. Blame Whatever, Blame Whoever - this guy doesn't care that he hasn't been doing his job to the best of his ability. Tends to be lazy. Will tell the boss that he is not the one responsible for any mishaps or mix-ups and is quick to throw others under the bus.

1b. Mr. Brown Nose - every office/company has one. This person is commonly seen talking to the bossman about stuff that he knows little about, but knows what the boss wants to hear. Often takes full credit for ideas even when they come from a person lower in the chain.

And yes, I was an inch away from mixing it up with this person today!:madman:

2. Mr. Clueless Manager-This boss really has no clue what is going with his employees, or who is responsible for what. He is disorganized, stressed and panicked and flying by the seat of his pants.

Therefore Mr. Blame Whatever/Whoever and Mr. Brown Nose are his #1 employees.

I think I know the guy your talking about! White guy. Late forties. Balding ........ Guy I worked with did all of the above and would throw his subordinates under the bus for his mistakes, then go back and tell them that he took all of the heat and kept the boss from coming down on all of them as well.

Don't give him the beating he so richly deserves. Give him the rope he needs to do himself. He will. He can't help himself.

I hate the know it all -- who doesn't know anything the worst. Sorta like the #1 doesn't take blame, but this is even worse.

My biggest complaint comes with the newer generation, who are constantly texting, playing games on the phone, and surfing the net when they should be working. When the managers are around, they can be found hiding in various rooms, texting away. These people never offer to help out coworkers who may be swamped that day with work, do as little as possible, and often leave work behind for the next shift to finish.

This is also the guy that is always on facebook posting pictures of meals, drinks and other things that anyone else could care less about.

What about the "don't these customers know we close in 15 minutes" girl.

Quick story.

I went into the local Rally's several years ago at 15 minutes till closing time. The employees were sitting at one of the tables. They said that it was too close to closing time to fix anything. I turned around to leave and one of them said that they were kidding. I looked back and said, "I'm not, and I'll never be back".

I outlasted them; never went back and that Rally's is long gone. By all accounts I'm a nice guy but grudges die hard.

Who told you that?

Man, you guys must have visited the office I used to work in, they were all there. Now me, I was the glue that held the office together. Just ask me.

My favorite guy at work is the one who THINKS he knows it all, and then when you move him to another position he is completely clueless. Had a guy that had been doing Quality Control for about a year. He thought that since he had been with the company for a year (ALL of which in ONE position), he thought he was knowledgeable enough about the rest of the company to do whatever he wanted. So we moved him to Inventory Control... DISASTER. Crash and burn. However you choose to describe it. :lol2: Never could find anything, his counts were almost always incorrect, as we went behind him to double check. He'd count items one week and indicate they were there (large quantities), and the next week they were nowhere to be found. :ohbrother: Needless to say, I was more than happy to move him back to his old position.

Are you talking about the one that was in the gas station in Maysville?

See this all the time. Add to it the same guy as above that, on Friday after lunch, will do even less than usual and if called on it cries he's being singled out and mistreated. Dude walks so slow he looks like a turtle on downers.

My favorite is the person who has to tell you about all the stuff they have to do, trying to make themselves seem more busy than they are. If you are so busy, you don't have time to tell me how busy you are.
