I'm going to say Trinity just because I think there are more "state championship quality" teams in 6A this year than in the other classes. The other 5 classes have some, but fewer, teams capable of winning a state championship IMO. Plus Trinity district is tougher than other of the other defending champs districts.

The thing is though that Trinity, St. X and Male are probably the top three teams in 6A but they are all in the same district. Although Scott County will definitely have something to say about that.

Too bad really, I have a bad feeling the 6A title game will be another blowout.

To the thread though you are probably right.

PepRock, did you just agree with yourself.

Apparently so...

Although to be fair, you could hardly blame me. :walk:

Caldwell County's boys are all a year older and NCC barely beat them as sophomores. That won't happen this year.

Male? Are you serious? I'm not sure Male is top 10.

NCC hands down..

After talking to some folks from NCC they felt they were fortunate to win last year. I think Caldwell County is the early favorite in 2A, but I will never sell NCC short.

I would agree with this.

Can't believe I voted Trinity but it sounds like next year St. X is loaded in the way T has been the past few years.

I think Bowling Green will have a very difficult road this year. Besides the usual Christian County and Warren Central matchups in the playoffs, the boys from the E-Town/Radcliff area are chomping at the bit for another shot at BG. In fact, that's all they have been talking about this summer. Hope we get to see it.

FWIW, this year's 6A playoff alignment would put Scott County on the road at Trinity (or St. X or Male) in the state semifinals.

Newport Central Catholic, IMHO, was the weakest State Champion in all 6 classes by a good margin. A Caldwell County team who should have been a year away from having a legit chance at the Title gave them everything they wanted and came a couple plays away from winning. I think there is no doubt NCC's target seems to be a bit bigger than anyone else.

Central may be vulnerable as well even though they have an extremely experienced team returning. It appears 3A football is finally starting to raise to Central's level over the past couple years as evident by there narrow escapes throughout the playoffs last season. With that said, a close win is still a win and noone has been able to get over the hump and prove they can knock them off.
