Brossarts' All-A State Championship soccer team was led by NKY player of the year Jim Uebel who just happens to be the son of an NCC grad.

I don't watch soccer, don't go to soccer games, and deffinetly don't folow the box scores. Sorry, but I am not a fan of that sport. Can't say I even read the articles about it either. I will never be a soccer guy, but thats just me. I am not interested. I was trying to get more info on BB's soccer team in the first place and how this was going to impact them. Sorry if I missed where they were brought up. and BTW shooter, if I get out more, I would probably just go watch a football game, practice, :lol: or go golfing.

With that said, I can see why they worry about a decline in the soccer program, and to tell you the truth, their probably right. I'm not sure how they will be able to field two "championship caliber" teams at the single A level at the same time. Good luck Mustangs.

Cannibalization of our other sports is the primary concern that most of us have with the "new" football program at Brossart.

Schools and school sysytems do not exist to field winning sports programs. They exist to academically and socially mature and educate students. Any amount of extra money to go into the hopper to do that is greatly needed and shouldn't be passed up. To do so is just foolish. The 2 schools can make it work. Holmes and Holy Cross have managed in for a while now. So have Newport and NewCath.

I do not think it is going to happen. That field is already booked.

The only problem with the above is that you may have kids that are at BB now or would like to attend BB that could never play on any of the existing teams. Football, due to size for example, may be THEIR sport. Should BB deny this boy the chance to get a good education AND play football just to protect their existing sports?

Just curious what everyone would think is reasonable to use the Camels existing facility.With all the play it gets now and than adding another possibly of 5 or so games to it and in the futre more than that.Could that lead to field turf... would the stangs be willing to put up that kind of cake[no pun intended] to upgrade Miller stadium?...probably not than what.. :confused:

That's the problem. I asked the booster president, coach and AD at Campbell County and they knew nothing about this but was upset to hear brossart people claiming they already had a contract to use the field. Turns out to be nothing to it. Sounds like the answer is to use St. Mary or St. Joe property, but if you believe the word on the street in Alexandria, the boosters at those schools are not happy about being a host. Sounds like the fairground people are a little unhappy about the practice idea. Jump the gun problem, maybe.
