Just pointing out the obvious, that the BB parents and families are part of the Campbell County community as well. No reason not to think they couldn't negotiate an agreement with the CC school board, until they find their own field as they move to varsity play. Again, I'll point to the NCC example!! With the pending growth in the area, don't rule out more radical options in the future either.

 

Don't forget, this is all pending getting the necessary funding, etc.; as they don't have any help from the school system in the start-up phase of this program. Will be interesting to see when they get off the ground, which coaches may show interest in the job??

 

Do not be surprised if NCC has a different set of rules starting next year.

You know for every family that has kids in the public schools there are many, many more who don't have any kids in any school any more, and those people who are older who have paid and paid for the public schools are the ones who voted down the school issue the last time, and just might be the ones who don't take kindly turning down a offer to make a buck or two. See they don't care about the sports teams; they just want to save themselves a buck or two, so maybe they can go out to dinner, or to a show while living on a fixed income.

Different subject, but have you consider the worth of those dollars that those old voters put into the system years ago compared to today’s dollar? I think we could agree that a dollar went further years ago, than what that same dollar does today.......as an "Old" person you should remember how when you were younger it seemed to be cheaper to live with less money in your pocket than today. :thumb:

 

Also remember those old voters are on the average more inclined to vote than say some twenty to thirty years olds on the average and the Politian’s know this too.

Can Brossart rent the soccer fields from St. Mary's and St. Joe's. That way they would be paying into their own feeder system. Or are those boosters not into helping each other? Just a thought.

Don't have a clue where you came up with the varsity next year idea?? The only plan I've heard all along, was to play JV for a year or two (maybe longer) until the maturity of the team dictated a move to a non-district (easy) varsity schedule!! Their plan seems to be in perspective.

Boards are elected by the people they represent, that includes everyone!! Once elected their responsibility is to be responsible with the taxpayers money. That money is to be used for the benefit of the public school. Those citizens that send their children to private schools do so on their own. I am sure that for whatever reasons, and they should never be questioned, i agree that is your choice. Because you send your child to private school you do not have the right to assume that a public school would just allow you to use its facility. But that is just my thoughts!! Don't worry if CC won't play you I am sure we will!!

Having retired from public education and a few years in the parochial schools, this type of statement does not surprise me at all. Having attended many school board meetings in all three counties, I never heard a discussion regarding the private schools. With that, serving on many committees in the parochial schools, I never found the public schools as part of the discussion. Mr. BGGreen assumes it is not the role of public school officials to not be focused on public school business and only public school business is very confusing. If it is the desire of bbhs to have a chance to use campbell county school property, they have to show how it benefits campbell county. That is brossart's responsiblity. If they fail to do that, they will have no luck. Also, hearing about Nc using Newport, all one needs to do is review the threads about Newport field conditions in the playoffs to see it is not a good deal. Word is that whole deal is going to change. Maybe, maybe not. But the bottom line is brossart has no right to use public school property. It may have permission but it has no right and for brossart supporters to threaten, yell and name call will find their goal hurt rather than helped. Mr BGGreen may want to keep that in mind. Old Teacher--Thanks for "assuming" you know what I'm thinking!! I was simply pointing out that it not beyond belief that Brossart may be able to work out something with Campbell to use their field, and used the NCC/Newport multi-year association as an example?? Regarding elected officials(never did I refer to SCHOOL officials as you did) and references to BB parents being taxpayers as well, that's again simply facts!! I totally agree the responsibility and "burden of proof" lies with the BB supporters to show the Campbell officials how this will be beneficial to their system; and fully understand that BB has no "right" to use any of Campbell's facilities.

 

I've not heard about, witnessed, discussed, mentioned, called for, etc. any challenging comments, yelled, name called, threatened, etc. directed towards any officials, etc. Not sure where you drug that one up from. Simply trying to point out that reasonable people can often come to reasonable solutions to complex problems?? Also trying to point out the absurdity of some on here who act like they are speaking for the entire County and school system!!
