Does BB have any land to use for JV and Frosh games? Nothing fancy. No stands needed. Just a patch of grass 100 yards long and about 50 yards wide. (See LaSalle and Moeller's JV field to know what "nothing fancy" means).

 

Not that i know of......one of the feeder schools St Mary's and maybe St Joes i believe have a soccer fields that could be utilized for a better sport but i dont know if those in the parish's would be willing to put them up for use....

Just curious what everyone would think is reasonable to use the Camels existing facility.With all the play it gets now and than adding another possibly of 5 or so games to it and in the futre more than that.Could that lead to field turf... would the stangs be willing to put up that kind of cake[no pun intended] to upgrade Miller stadium?...probably not than what.. :confused:

That's the problem. I asked the booster president, coach and AD at Campbell County and they knew nothing about this but was upset to hear brossart people claiming they already had a contract to use the field. Turns out to be nothing to it. Sounds like the answer is to use St. Mary or St. Joe property, but if you believe the word on the street in Alexandria, the boosters at those schools are not happy about being a host. Sounds like the fairground people are a little unhappy about the practice idea. Jump the gun problem, maybe.

I doubt many start-up programs, especially at small schools; include a new field/stadium in their budgets, or they'd never get off the ground. I'm sure it's often necessary for small budget schools to have to share or rent a field in the beginning, especially until they start playing a vasity schedule. NewCath seems to do OK without a field for a few years now!!

That is a false rumor, saying that Brossart will use Campbell's field. It wont happen.

This is all nice and good, and I love history. The last time I checked the dio is not running the KHSAA.

I do not think there would be one school in the state of Kentucky that would actually turn down the right opportunity to help generate revenue for their school district, although I sometimes have to question-

However, I think what Camel1 is getting at is the simple fact that given the location of schools and the nature of the business, those involved in the negotations of this use of the Campbell County field will make sure that the needs of Campbell County come first!

Taxpayers?, that point has no validity at all. CC schools and facilities exist for cc students, by law. Just as bb school exist for bb students by choice. the football group of brossart would be stupid to have that as a claim to use. I am a taxpayer and last I checked I have no claim to use any facilities at Rupp Arena, UK, NKU, Boone County, Campbell County, city building, etc. Hopefully your info on other options is better than your point to have the right to use cchs field. Also, there is no reason to not be at either st joe or st mary. that is all part of the same group.

Taxpayers no, but voters yes.....My guess is that if the school board, which is an elected body of the county, would like to be re-elected in Campbell, they just might want to listen to BB. From my knowledge of the area, there are a lot of register voters who vote, that just might not take to kindly to a school board that didn't at least help out BB for a little bit, and make some money to boot, with making some money being the prime concern of those voters....... If you remember the citizens just voted down a tax increase in Campbell for a new school, maybe if the School Board helped BB they (meaning BB) might try to persuade the whole community to vote for a tax increase next time, if they got turned down while offering to pay for the use of a field....who knows......and if Campbell doesn't want to help out, maybe Highlands just might listen to the offer to make a buck or two at their field.

Just pointing out the obvious, that the BB parents and families are part of the Campbell County community as well. No reason not to think they couldn't negotiate an agreement with the CC school board, until they find their own field as they move to varsity play. Again, I'll point to the NCC example!! With the pending growth in the area, don't rule out more radical options in the future either.

 

Don't forget, this is all pending getting the necessary funding, etc.; as they don't have any help from the school system in the start-up phase of this program. Will be interesting to see when they get off the ground, which coaches may show interest in the job??

So the voters are going to elect someone who says to do things for a private school vs. a public school they are suppose to represent. Very strange election issue.

 

Go to highlands, if you know the area then you know one has grass that is OK at best and the other is turf. Not hard to figure out.
