There goes that powerful soccer team they have every year.I'm not complaining though.

Brossart enrollment has been somewhat even the last few years because there is/was a house building ban in a lot of the area around Brossart because of sewer line problems. And add in increased cost of tuition to attend a private school. When the building restrictions are lifted it should lead to significant growth in that area but at 400 students they have growth room before being 2A.

 

St. Henry would come in at 2A with somewhere around 530-560 students.

HC in every guy sport seemed to be more competive prior to football.

 

Brossart has a very strong tradition in cross country which could be destroyed with this addition. I know a coach at St.Henry that is fighting tooth and nail to never to allow it there.

There is a soccer coach I know of who is being self serving in this regard as I have heard the story from a teacher and other sport coach at St. H. . My kids would have probably gone to St. Henry had they had a football program, heck I would have gone to St.Henry 25 years ago for football if they had a program. (I went to St. H sixth thru eighth grade but left beacuse they didn't have a football program. )Drew Ellison, the newest cadet in the Air Force academy quite possibly could have gone to St. Henry too, (he''s also from Boone county). There are huge amounts of talent in St. Henry's base that would make them able to compete with just about anybody.

True but heres something that will make your head spin. Bardstown has 267 Brossart 261 and NCC has 266. Kind throws a wrench out there doesn't it, NCC would move up first. But Bardstown is 1A though aren't they, that's what they played last season.

You will see single-sex schools with a double enrollment figure.

On a side note I think this is good news for Walton-Verona's new

football program.For the simple fact now they will probably not be placed

in the same district as Beechwood and NCC.

I think Holy Cross fielded a varsity squad in 2 years.

:confused: O.K. I'm confused..I thought parents sent their kids to private schools in order to receive a faith based education and not for athletics, or so I've been told, over and over and over.

As much as people in Fort Thomas pay for taxes combined with the success of Highlands football makes the situation a little different don't you think?

Didn't Brossart have a boy named McDole play for them a few years ago?? He was a pretty fair athelete. I believe his daddy was a monster down on the hill in the 70's, yet his boys stayed in the county. If football were an option, maybe the Kiernan boys go there too! Point being, Brossart FB will effect NCC.

Feeder schools are already defined and won't change. In fact IMO the entire diocese will be considered one school district for feeder purposes.
