May 22, 201313 yr I've been on the road the last two weeks and listen to Sirius Broadcat from the Home Team announcers. I heard Philadelphia's last week and the Mets tonight. They would kill to have our lineup. They sing the Reds praises much more than you would imagine. We've got it good. We have a team that can win it all, time will tell. Our only issues that consistently come up is the 2 hole. I don't think we have an answer on the roster right now, but that problem is nothing compared to other teams. We have our 3-5 hitters locked up for a long time, as well as a lot of the pitching. This team is built to last. They'll have to replace Choo, nore than likely or pay the 13 million next year for the option. That will al depend on Hamilton and right now he isn't ready. This is a very good team and if they stay healthy they will continue to be there in the end.

May 22, 201313 yr I'll throw another name in for the #2 spot (which I'm sure will get hammered)...but, why not Todd Frazier? And yes, I know he's struck out a lot. But, hear me out. Sure he's got twice the strikeouts as Cozart, but also 2.5 times the number of walks. His OBP is 80 points higher than Cozart (and only 12 lower than Phillips) While you wouldn't think it...he's got 3 stolen bases, while Frazier hasn't even attempted one yet. Frazier's grounded into a double play the same number as Phillips, which is only one more time than Cozart The one advantage that Cozart has (statistically) over Todd is sacrifices (5-0)...but, here's why I'm not worried about that. If Choo gets on, why is everyone so intent on bunting him over? Even if you're successful, just about every team is going to walk Joey since they've got the base open. Why are we allowing them to take the bat out of the hands of our best hitter? Make them defend our number 2 hitter. Frazier's shown the ability to hit to right field with some authority. Let him hit away. The thing that they'd have to tell Todd is to be patient. Pitchers aren't going to be as willing to nibble outside of the strike zone, knowing that Votto's on deck. While it certainly may not be your long term answer...like many have said, can it be any worse than Cozart in that spot?
