Kentucky Recruiting 2015

Featured Replies

Go back and re-read what I was said. I was saying with Brown this team could be like 2012...

Like 2012 without a legit generational talent that was easily the national player of the year in spite of a really low usage rate. You can't be "like" the 2012 team without an Anthony Davis. There isn't one in the 2015 class, so...

gametime, how do you think next year's UK guard rotation will compare with 2015's?

I've learned from UConn's two most recent national titles that one can never under estimate the importance of good guard play, regardless of how good the front court talent is.

I'd argue you are doing everything possible to sell yourself that missing on every elite spring recruit is a minor deal. IF they can get Brown we can revisit, but right now this roster couldn't hold the 2012 teams sweaty jock...

Do you think the players who somewhat unexpectedly returned last year plus the platooning move this year had an impact on this year's spring class? Or is it as you mentioned earlier more about the lead recruiter changes at UK? Or neither, just sometimes you don't get everything you want?

I think Ulis and Briscoe will be excellent together. Haven't seen Matthews in a while, but liked him a lot as a young pup. You'll probably see the starting duo on the court 30 minutes a night, and that's a good thing...

I do think the platoon hurt recruiting. Selling the guys in house is one thing, but kids watching at home have no desire to play 20 minutes a night and get limited touches. That and Antigua leaving hurt the most IMO...

Any coach would take the talent UK had, but I thought Cal had a tough pitch in that respect.

In the end, losing out on some of these top talents will hurt UK next year and there is no getting around that. I think we are so use to these dominant classes and Cal basically getting who he wants that it is a shock when it doesn't occur. UK is still going to end up with the #1 or #2 class in the country and be a top 10 team next year. They aren't going to be as talented as 2012 or 2014, but they will definitely be better than 2012-2013 was. UK will be fine, we got spoiled with how good last years team was I think.

I know nothing about any of them, but Florida has 4 4* recruits coming in this year. If any of them decide to leave now that Donovan is gone, could they be options for Kentucky?

KeVaughn Allen

Noah Dickerson

Kevarrius Hayes

Keith Stone

There are not many good teams next year and no great teams. That is the saving grace for UK next year. I think the current roster can compete with most every team in the country.

One of these is a McDonalds all american...which one?

Between Poythress, Lee, and Skal, what more do you need?

You're okay going into a season with 3 bigs on the roster? To me that's irresponsible. Get a project or something.

Irresponsible??? :lol2:

Irresponsible??? :lol2:

Of a coaching staff? Yes, I think so.

3 bigs, one of which is 6'7". Not enough. An injury would be a catastrophe. Don't see what's funny about that.

It's basketball. I don't consider anything irresponsible and/or catastrophic outside of things like what happened at Baylor...
