Kentucky Recruiting 2015

So looking at Jalens schools, it looks as if one doesn't belong. It seems as if that will be the choice as well. Hopefully not, but you can't deny Adidas influence in this one

Of a coaching staff? Yes, I think so.

3 bigs, one of which is 6'7". Not enough. An injury would be a catastrophe. Don't see what's funny about that.

Don't jump on me GT. Who were the bigs for 2012?

I'm not going to complete downplay the impact of Adidas in his decision but I don't think it's as big as some think. I think it's more of a combination of Adidas and family being in the area why he's so high on Michigan. If it were all about Adidas than Kansas and UCLA would've never been cut from his list IMO. As I pointed out earlier and KSR made a point of it as well, he wears Nike apparel or shoes every where he goes outside of AAU events. His social media accounts are loaded with pictures of him wearing Lebron apparel as well as KD which are both Nike. He takes lots of shoe selfies in his new Nikes and his high school team was outfitted with Nike. Additionally he spent time on the USA team and participated in the Nike Hoops Summitt where he became acquainted even more with Nike. I follow him on Instagram as I do anyone that plays for Kentucky or is being recruited by Kentucky and he was stoked about all the USA Nike gear he received.

In the end he probably chooses Michigan but I think it has more to do with family than just Adidas.

It's basketball. I don't consider anything irresponsible and/or catastrophic outside of things like what happened at Baylor...

Well coaching basketball is not your or my profession. To me, there's just no excuse for having two true post players on the roster at UK.

C Anthony Davis 6'10''

C Eloy Vargas 6'11''

F Terrance Jones 6'9''

F Kyle Wiltjer 6'9''

Skal Labissiere 6'11

Marcus Lee 6'9"

Alex Poythress 6'8"

Derek Willis 6'9"

They have pretty similar height as the 2012 team.

I think the size with this team will be fine, it just will not be a scenario like this past season where Towns played 99% of the offense with his back to the basket. Skal will be a big time playmaker inside and will develop his back to the basket game and Poythress and Lee will do what they do with put backs alley oops. Ultimately, outside of Skal, I see UK being a little more guard heavy compared to last year which might not be a bad thing.

You're okay going into a season with 3 bigs on the roster? To me that's irresponsible. Get a project or something.

I believe that last year's roster of big men spoiled us UK fans. I would like to see them add another big body, but the Cats will be fine even if they don't.

Thanks, so it's proven you don't need a whole team of big men down low.

This year was an anomaly

I think Brown is down to UM or UK.

This year was an anomaly

That team had two true Centers (for college anyway) and two PFs and Darius Miller was a 6'8" SF that could have been a stretch four in a pinch. That's more than this years crew can say. If Willis has to play the post it might get ugly.

I wouldn't want to finish a game with Poythress at the 5 and Willis at the four. That could easily happen in a game or multiple games next year.

Cal is expressing interest in wing LaGerald Vick. He's a 6'5" wing who decommitted from SMU. Is currently a 2016 kid, but is looking to possibly reclassify.

Does that mean he's still concerned I guess you could say about next years team?

I wouldn't say that at all. More building roster depth. Not much depth at the wing spot right now.
