I'm just tuning out this Boston coverage for now. Obviously, we incentivize the media to run with every half-baked lead or rumor because we guzzle it up the second it's on the screen. I've been guilty as anyone. I just saw an article "analyzing" the type of explosion it was, as though I was going to solve the mystery of the Boston Bomber from my desk. These news outlets shouldn't be collecting ad revenues for disseminating this nonsense. So, I'm turning it off.

 

The media watchdogs are having a field day with this. Following the fake Will McAvoy account on Twitter has been amazing today. He's furious with this coverage. Follow @WillMcAvoyACN.

Al-Jazeera has said that a "suspect has been identified" from the video but that no arrests have taken place.

 

BBC took very little time to walk back their story that there was an arrest, claiming their initial reports said that "American media were reporting an arrest." Way to do your own work, BBC.

 

The Guardian newspaper is also reporting the identification of suspects through CCTV video.

And no embarrassment, no repercussions for anyone in the media. Today's media has become the modern day lynch mob - jump to action first and ask questions later.

Yeah, the Schrödinger's Suspect jokes are pretty good.

The news media makes it very easy for the conspiracy theorists. All they do is jump on the initial misinformation reported by the media and when the story changes after actual facts are discovered, then they figure that the government is covering up what was initially reported and so forth.

CNN is reporting man in white hat as person of interest.

On CNN earlier they had reports of a suspect putting down the bag in front of Lord and Taylor from their security footage which was the 2nd bomb. So if it is, in fact, those two guys, it would be the guy with the duffel bag that was the man of interest, rather than the guy in the white hat. I guess CNN could be wrong, but I thought I would add that that just didn't add up.

The FBI has publicly stated that they are not making the video footage, photos, or any information regarding the identity(ies) of the individual(s) in suspicion available to the press at this time in order to keep from jeopardizing the investigation.

I wonder if the agencies investigating didn't leak that an arrest was immenent in an effort to panic the perpetrators and force them to make a mistake.

Judging from the pics he was wearing a similar backpack as the pieces found after the explosion. The backpack also looked to be protruding frontward in the shape of a cooker lid, you could see the form inside of the backpack. Then later he was pictured again not wearing his backpack, so where did it go? If he really had personal items in there he didn't want to lose, I doubt he just leaves it laying amongst a crowd of thousands of people. Just from everything I saw in those pictures I would want to be talking to that guy, and like I said he would have some explaining to do.

I think it's been proven that it's a certainty that they will be wrong.

the Investigative Project on Terrorism’s Steve Emerson reported that Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, the Saudi national who was briefly named a “person of interest” in the Boston Marathon bombings, is being deported on Tuesday. He based his information on a number of his confidential sources.

 

“I just learned from my own sources that he is now going to be deported on national security grounds next Tuesday,” Emerson said.

 

Host Sean Hannity referenced a report by Reuters that revealed President Barack Obama met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal at the White House Wednesday. They reportedly discussed the conflict in Syria.

 

“The meeting was not on Obama’s public schedule,” the report adds.

If he did something to be deported over why isn't he being tried in court first?
