TOO Early top 25 (2013-2014)

Featured Replies

Louisville has very good guards coming in. Very high on Terry Rozier and Chris Jones. We also get Kevin back and have the luxury of being able to slide Hancock to the two and keep Blackshear at the three.

Depending on who returns for Michigan, they can easily be a top 3 team next year. I had no idea how young they were. UK will be fun to watch. Would like to see next year's UK team play the 2011-2012 team.

That's what I was thinking. I was surprised they were not listed among the 25.

While they obviously won't be as experienced, Louisville's guards will be just as quick as they were this year... Only question is how quick will they develop.

Looks like Dieng and Smith are gone, if Behanan leaves also then Louisville is not a Top 10 team IMO.

And that is huge. If this year showed anything, it showed that Freshman are truly unknown until they show how they adjust to the college game. This is one UK fan that isn't giving UK anything next year.

Didn't Michigan play a bunch of freshmen?

Hard to determine top teams for next year without knowing who will leave & who will stay. A very rough top five for me would look like this:

1. Kentucky

2. Michigan State

3. North Carolina

4. Duke

5. Arizona

Hmmm... why is everyone so quick to place UK at number one in the preseason??? I believe most of UL and Michigan's teams are made up of underclassmen. If these programs are not hit hard by early exits to the NBA they have to be considered as favorites at the start of next season. Didn't UK start out the year preseason ranked number 3... perhaps we should see how next year's UK players actually handle the transition from high school to prime-time college basketball before proclaiming them number one.

UK was also highly ranked the three previous years and that worked out okay.

Burke is leaving. Louisville loses Siva, Dieng, Smith and possibly Behanan.

What? You have to be crazy if you think Dieng, and Smith are staying. They lose their pg Siva. Pitino's freshmen take more time to develop.

Way too many question marks looking at Louisville right now. Sure, if everyone returns this is the No. 2 team in the country. But that ain't happening. I'm on board with those that think Smith is leaving. Gorgui was already gone; he participated in senior day for crying out loud. Behanan is a real wild card in this whole thing. I don't know that his stock will be higher if he comes back for another year. Hard to see that happening.

I honestly couldn't pin down a starting five for next year's Cardinals right now.

Jones/Rozier

Ware/Gill

Hancock/Blackshear

Behanan/Harrell

Agau/Mathiang/Price/VanTreese

Very surprising, because you're usually so optimistic in your UK predictions...(!)

I like the way next years Duke team looks. Won't have the seniors they have this year but Cook, Suilamon, Parker, Hood and Plumlee looks like a solid lineup to me. The biggest question mark will be Plumlee. Marshall barely got any PT this year and that makes me a bit nervous.

I had stated in my earlier post UK then everyone else. Actually that was in excitement looking forward to next years team and although I do feel that UK should be right there I also feel that Duke, Louisville, Michigan (depending on who goes/comes back on UL, UM), Arizona and Michigan State deserves mention and will be right there in the mix.

After this past season LRCW does have a point. Although UK has all that talent coming in the fact is that they haven't won one game yet and I want to see what their attitudes are like and how they play as a team.

Along with some very talented sophomores.

If Wiggins comes UK should be set for another title run. That kind of talent is unmatched, and they have some experience to help.
