He said he wanted to challenge himself. That Tarheel team finsihed 6th in D2 in back to back seasons. Cole wanted to go D1 and to play D1 you have to be big. Tarheel team doesn't have a true center on the team, they play with two athletic PF. I applaud the young man for wanting to do this.

It looks like the kids are listed with the schools they will be attending, not who they played for last.

Spiece KY Gators - 7th grade 13u, they finished 4th in the country as 6th graders last year and return all, does anyone have an official roster?

 

I know they have Andrew Taylor & Bayley Rice (6'8 - 7th grader) from Corbin & 6'4 Jerome Reed from Paducah.

Baseball and AAU basketball is more of an issue than football.

The only decent AAU coach I've ever met was JustJim.

 

Some may not like him as a basketball official but James Pouncy is one hell of an AAU Coach. Been doing it over 20 years and has had some of the best talent play for him at some point over the years. Knows the game pretty well IMO and prepares many of them for varsity competition early in their HS careers.

I see that Trinity's Ray Spalding is playing for the Travelers. He's about 6'7 or 6'8 with nice skills. Class of 2015 I believe.

What is the rule about high school coaches coaching AAU basketball? I know that they started allowing it last year but can't find it in the by laws. Thx in advance for any info.
