Thanks everyone for the info! Love the idea of the midnight madness practice! Also, didn't know that it is always the same dates, good to know for future planning of vacations since we only have 2 weeks a year to vaca.

That would be a Diocese question. They may have gotten approval. I do have a question tho that is a KHSAA dead period question, can we practice on the 9th? or is over at 11:59 pm on the 9th? and we have to wait until the 10th?

There are lots of talent in the incoming freshman class. Several have already played big in big time games. Their names are escaping me but the 8th grader from Ashland, Nelson County, Scott High and Mercer County. This is not to mention all the Louisville area girls that are playing for Catholic schools that aren't allowed to play up. Looking forward to seeing what this class can do. There are some great 8th grade AAU teams in the state that have some excellent talent. Next couple of years of girls high school basketball should be fun to watch.

Coupled with the fact that South and North are down this year, Trimble could make a run. I am very impressed with the fresh guard Clifford. If she continues to develop, she could help them into the 8th region tourney.

If you are good enough, then play up. Guess what, in life just because you are older doesn't mean that you get the job. Sports teaches life skills like if you practice enough and get good enough and you are the best then you should be rewarded! You are worried about it hurting the kids that are getting passed over but it also hinders the one that you are not letting play up. They blow a team out in the first half and don't get to play any more in the 6th grade game bc they are so good. How is that "fair" and "developmental"? Play at your skill level.

I completely agree. Nothing has changed. I even talked with an official from the 8th that said after their meeting a week or so ago that 2 hands was automatic foul but unless they impede their progress with one then they weren't going to call anything. So what does that change? They usually don't let girls play too rough, if they were really emphasizing the hands then the boys games would end up playing the entire bench because they would be in so much foul trouble. I have seen some rough games already this year, if they were really going to start enforcing they would have started in the pre-season.

I heard that he actually was hit (literally) with the first flag which resulted in him getting tossed. Not sure if this is fact but I heard this from someone that was at the game. IF this is true, what high school football coach would not be tossed? I am not sure I can name many.

Anyone have any info how the girls are doing with their new coach? What do the Cards have coming back this year?

My pick is Collins. OC is a little high for me after losing their coach and something like 7 seniors, this may be a tougher year for the Colonels.

Jags lost their coach and a couple starters but I am sure that they will continue to compete. Will still be a contender in March, as always.

I'm pretty sure that Helps and some other top players in KY played with KY Premiere. Not sure of how they finished nationally.

Legacy is also from Northern Kentucky. Looks like some really good high school basketball will be coming out of the 9th and 10th regions in a couple of years. Are any of the girls on the team from Ohio or Indiana or are all of the girls from Kentucky? Do we know if any of these girls will actually be going to high school together?

Where are the Shining Stars and Lady Royals from? Lady Royals from Mason County probably?

What is the rule about high school coaches coaching AAU basketball? I know that they started allowing it last year but can't find it in the by laws. Thx in advance for any info.
