Trimble County 2013/2014

Featured Replies

Basketball season for 2013/2014 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Trimble County? Remember, please be constructive.

Trimble County returns 9 of 11 roster players from last year's varsity team including leading scorer, senior Paige Black. They lost two to graduation including floor leader and leading rebounder Chloe Griffith. Three starters return, Black, Jessie Dunlap and Erin Gonterman, all seniors. The Lady Raiders also return 6' soph Mila Consley, 6' frosh Shelbe Black and frosh guard Kaylee Clifford. These three will see considerable playing time and may rotate in and out of the starting lineup. Rounding out the roster are juniors Ashley Brierly and Tailor Brewer and soph Katie Gonterman. These ladies will also see playing time this season.

Look for Paige Black to fill the leadership void left with the graduation of Griffith. This season should see another step forward in the program. The schedule is challenging right out of the gate at home against Campbell County. These ladies are capable of great things and hope they will be able to deliver.

Griffith's leadership and experience will be tough to replace, but the Raiders have more than capable Seniors to fill that void. Coach Stewart is a very good coach that gets her kids to buy in. Look for them to be a serious contender for the 8th Region All A crown, and to advance out of the 29th District into the 8th Region tournament for the first time since being placed in that district in 2006.

Watched Trimble scrimmage Tates Creek a few days ago, and was impressed. Trimble will definitely be a contender for the 8th Region All A, and quite possibly the 29th District crown.

TC has been on the cusp of advancing to the 8th region tourney for the past two or three years but has not quite been able to get over the hump. Perhaps this is the year. A timely dose of poise, confidence and resolve at the end of the year may be what they will need to get it done. The 29th district title may be more up for grabs this season than it has been for some time.

Agreed.

Coupled with the fact that South and North are down this year, Trimble could make a run. I am very impressed with the fresh guard Clifford. If she continues to develop, she could help them into the 8th region tourney.
