I'm hearing some of the same names with the Highlands opening as the Ryle one. This may be the job that jumps at these candidates quicker so they have first choice.

I agree Bowman and Hunt are both great. I have seen Coach Bowman in action this season against Boone in the JV tournament, he really know how to get his team ready to play! They won in OT, great game.

Personally I would like to see one of these programs take a chance on Blevins or Bowman both are great and I want to see them have an opprotunity. I enjoy watching coaches with passion and both of those guys have it!

Are there any coaches outside the 9th that could possibly get this job? I keep hearing Jim Hicks from Grant County as a possible candidate at some openings and Brandon Grammer is mentioned with Ryle and Highlands. Does anyone see them or any other candidates as serious contenders for these jobs?

Comparing the importance and success of football at Ryle/HC with that at Highlands is not wise.

Saw a post that mentioned Hart...coming in late on this one but if you are referring to Ross Hart of Holmes, he isn't a candidate for any opening. He is happy where he is.

My point was that they understand that football success does not make a basketball team inferior.

I like both Bowman and Blevins and mentioned as such very early in the thread. I don't see Bowman making the trek as I just think he just recently moved to Boone from Independence home wise; however both could give the program a nice shot in the arm. IMO they have the right dynamic

BREAKING NEWS: Highlands AD Dale Mueller hires himself as the new head basketball coach. During the press conference Coach Mueller mentions that while he doesn't know much about coaching basketball he plans on keeping 25-30 guys on Varsity and going with a run and gun/full court press style of play. Practices will be held after football each night with a slight break inbetween so all football/basketball guys can attend. He said he is looking forward to a great year!

When I hear these high numbers of applicants for head coaching jobs, I wonder who all those people are. Seriously ... who are those 28 people?
