I was paging through Terry Boehmker's "9th region Royalty" this weekend. I was shocked to see that from the history of the book (1947-2012) the most Regional appearances were 50. By both Highlands and Holmes. Next were New Cath 49 and Cov Cath 42. Maybe Highlands is not only a football school after all? Pretty impressive run over the years. Maybe that helps explain why the bluebird hoops faithful have had some unrest lately?

Highlands isn't going to continue having bad seasons. That's just the hope of the other 9th Region teams. Highlands also had the most 9th region titles until Holmes just took the lead over the last couple years. Although Highlands and NCC will end up in the tenth region in another year or two.

As long as the committee includes Mr. Shields and Mr. Messmer, it's fine to have a committee. No need for a committee if it doesn't include basketball people.

Do the "basketball people" have to be male? From what I know, committee has been formed and the list of applicants includes a hodge podge of coaching types. I know that "open" gyms start out today and it will be interesting to see how many show up and exactly "who" shows up. IMO it is very important that those who plan on playing in the basketball program get their "fannies" to these open gyms unless they are playing baseball.
