As I see it, the horn was sounded on first shot. The re-do was the next shot (the replacement of the first shot) . He missed. He hit the 2nd shot. Nothing was gained by the re-do. The official erroneously sounded the horn causing the stoppage in play (in this case, his shot), so why should the player not be given his earned free throw without interference ?

So now the argument has switched back to 2010/2011 season ? What about when they were in the 6th grade, or 3rd? We're talking about the present. Now. 2013. I'll say it again, Bolden is a nice player. It's a shame that some people refuse to respect the talent of any player's not on your own team. Luckily, he does have the respect of those that matter. Good day !

Hawkins and Bolden are 2 entirely different players. Bolden is a shoot first 1, I think Dominique is more of a 2. This is the first I've seen Bolden and he is very very good. One college coach beside me today talking about the game says "terrific player, dribbles too much". Probably true but he does it within his offense. I can't wait to see him mature physically and as a player. He could be as good as we have seen in some time out of this state. I don't know much about him, but I like his demeanor, I hope he is a solid student and gets to play at the next level of his choosing. I'm really looking forward to seeing him for 2 more years.

 

As for Dominique, I've coached against Dominique in the summers since he was in the 6th grade. I've seen him do many things on the court that leave you agape. I'll not compare them as 10th graders, I'll only say that there are things that each can do, that the other cannot. Hawkins strength is a major factor for him. He's a smooth leaper and has a knack for finishing. He always has.

Booher wasn't very happy about this play at all and made sure to bring it up in the post game interviews in his closing comments. Brought up the rule used during the regular season and said he didn't know if it changed for the Sweet 16.

 

Again, that didn't cost them the game but definetly made Holmes' last possession mean absolutely nothing.

 

I stand by my comment that this one should've been settled in regulation. Holmes makes one more ft, they win. Bottom line.

Watched the end of regulation at work and wished I was at the game. Two great guards going at it, doesn't get much better. Holmes didn't play the toughest schedule but no doubt they were one of the best in the state.
