Anyone have the dates/times for the first round games?

33rd championship game: Cooper over Boone

 

 

34th championship game: Dixie over St. Henry

 

 

35th championship game: Holmes over CovCath

 

 

36th championship game: NewCath over Newport

Maybe. But maybe not. There is even a chance that the winner of CovCath/Holy Cross could upset Holmes in the District final. And even a chance Newport could upset NewCath. If just one of those happens, NCC and Holmes could meet in the first round of the Region. Even if both win their Districts they could meet in the semis. Either way the winner would face getting "up" for the next round which could be difficult given the exhausting game NCC and Holmes played last time. Too many quality teams will be in the Region tourney to predict the winner will be NCC or Holmes for certain. Look at the year Newport won the final over Holmes easily after getting waxed by NCC in the district final. Who saw that coming?

frank, welcome to BGP and you have a lot of good points there. In the seven short years I have been in Northern Kentucky, it has been difficult to gauge the 9th Region tourney especially this early.

Cooper and Ryle in the 33rd

Dixie and St.Henry in the 34th

Holmes and CCH in the 35th

I would have taken Holy Cross if they would have played the game at Holy Cross.

8 games on Wed night (7boys and 1 girls), 24 refs needed. (how does that work? send top crew to likely closest contests?)

With HC just beating Scott County I'd have to say they are playing pretty darn well at the right time and should be the favorite against CCH, especially if Frederick is still out.
