If its not a State Championship, what is it? Trophy says STATE CHAMPS! Rings will say STATE CHAMPS!

Well, if the trophy says "state champs", then I'm sure which ever teams wins state in ky this season, they might have issue with it.

 

Whether you agree or disagree with the system, it's the way it is. Is the winner of the NIT the national champ? Do they get rings that say "national champs" or a trophy?

They get a trophy/ring that says NIT Champs. Just like NCC is the All A STATE Champs! Jealousy is not a good trait.

I got a Q for you? Who did NewCath beat in football this past year that was any good. From my understanding they didn't. Until you play teams like Highlands up here I wouldn't be talking about your little 2 A State Championship that the football team has won. Now when you play Highlands and Beat them then you can say whatever you want.

Sorry I'm just stating my opinion just like other people on this thread.

I have no dog in this fight, but it really continues to amaze me how so many people get on an internet message board and start trashing and belittling high school kids, their accomplishments, and their programs. You would think adults would have more class and carry themselves better, but I guess some people just love to put down kids. :idunno:

Your kid must of played basketball at NewCath under these coaches or you have a great insider that tells you all this stuff. 30 and 3 this year won the All A state. They lost to Holmes who is pretty good and they didn't play good at all an lost by 5. I think they will be even better next year then they were this year. If you had a bad experience at NewCath that's fine we understand just come out and say it.

 

Not a dog in the fight; Campbell Cty Native, avid sports fan, and not a bad experience with NewCath. Friends with many current families attending NewCath. IMO there needs to be some change within the program, not Grant in particular. I agree, they have a very talented group of kids returning.

I was talking about comparing the talent on NCCs team to the talent on other schools in the area? Do you think there are any basketball factories around here churning out DI & DII talent every year?

 

Exactly. So who is this wealth of talent that NCC supposedly had recently compared to other teams in the region so much so that they should have won the Region? They had 1 D1 (ASun) player and lost in 4 OTs in the final. They had some good high school basketball players that are playing other sports in college. I would argue that other teams in the region have had better talent players and more of those players recently.

Ok, I will play bad guy. I can't believe I'm helping out NKYfootballfan91 here. Here it is. I'm guessing NKY guy is trying to say that the All "A" is not a sanctioned State Championship by the KHSAA. The link shows all sanctioned State Champs from last year. Sorry everyone. But hey, NCC is still a very good BB team and will be something to be reckoned with over the next few years. It's a shame that their own have to argue like this.

NCC has a fine basketball team and winning the All A Classic is an awesome accomplishment but the All A Classic is nothing more than a really nice mid-season tournament. The All A Classic is NOT a state championship.

It is a state title for small schools that consists of 1A, 2A, 3A schools. Just ask the Chairman of the tourney and we all know who started the All A Classic State Tournament. Great job by those young men and coaches up on the hill keep on reaching those goals. Want to ask LawnBoy a Q what do you think the All A Classic is since you are a NewCath fan is it a State Championship. Would love to know your input on it.
