The worst thing about this thread is that it was started by someone who is supposed to represent NCC. FYI your not just supporting the football team when you wear blue and gold you represent the school, an what it is to be a BRED! To be making remarks regarding basketball players an coaches who are having a very successful season is just plain selfish on your part. Who are you to determine what any of theese young men will accomplish. If you are that concerned about it go speak with with the coaches, parents an player. Im sure you see them often. It really shouldnt be that hard to understand, if someone decides not to play a certain sport it just means they just don't want to play. It isn't that hard to figure out.

I don't know what was discussed w/ Zack and his parents. I do know, that with how intertwined the Pangallo family is w/ NewCath and having an uncle on the coaching staff, things will be discussed much more candidly w/ them than w/ my boys or other kids. The relationship is different.

So would this mean that Erik Anderson has decided not to play football next year? I was under the impression that he even saw some JV time last fall.

Honestly I would be shocked if Zach played football.......I cannot think of one member of that Pangallo group (Chris, Jimmy, Steve, Nicky, Rocky et al) that played football. Some of the cousin Pangallo's did but not that immediate family.

Agree, after seeing what his cousin went through with the knee injury and knowing he has a bright future in Hoops, I would stick to the hardwood.

That is why they are what they are in basketball...very good. Other than Mcdonald...not sure the others have football bodies. He is a great golfer...thats what i would focus on. At the end of the day its what the kids want to do. You cant make them love something they dont love.

The flipside is they kids could be "discouraged" from playing other sports by someone close to the program. That's not to say the head coach or an assistant coach would do this. But, the guy running the AAU team could get "the word" and pass it on to the player. If the player is good enough to make the basketball team and has the desire to play football, he should not be penalized.

Ouch that hurt! Frankie was between Jimmy and Nicky. Only one that didn't play basketball. He played football and baseball.
